    Hello,

There are two issues I wanted to raise:

First: Please do not send my username and password by email, unless requested, especially when soliciting for renewal. This compromises the security of the password. In this regard, how do I change the password, now that you compromised it?

Second: I never looked at the invoice the last time, but my 6-month membership was renewed on 11 August 2010. Six months should expire midnight of 10 February 2011. I had to renew prematurely for another 6-months. Having done that, the equivalent of one (1) year (or two “6-month” renewals) should end midnight 10 August 2011.

Can someone from the staff rectify this please. Thanks.

    Happy New Year to all!

How does user / name sent over email compromises your security. How does others send the username / passwords? You get them hand delivered?

Your membership has been extended till feb 2011, that was a calculation mistake. At the same time, your current redemption request has been rejected, so your membership will expire in feb 2011 and you will have to pay to use JA services.

JA reserves the right to allow / reject the redemption request and based on your little / no contribution to JoomlArt community (active help in the forum), you would not be able to enjoy the redemption privileges henceforth, unless you are able to prove your help to the JA community in this forum.

Any reply to this may please be kept to the point and avoid the essay writing.

    Regards

    Arvind,

I did not request my password to be sent to me during the solicitation. In other services that I participate, like my webhosting service, when a password is sent, in case the user forgot it (which I did not in the case of Joomlart), there is a mechanism to change the temporary password sent, immediately.

If Joomlart does not have such a feature, it should adopt simple security measures.

FYI: I have been dealing with personal issues, including several health complications since 2008. I must have been to the doctors/hospitals more the past two years, than previously in my entire life. In such situations, helping in the forum would not be much of priority.

I am not sure when I will have the strength or motivation to participate as actively as I did in the past. Maybe when Joomlart will create some templates that will really catch my interest, I may be able to participate a bit again.

The incoming release of the Joomla 1.6 may trigger that. If what they were trumpeting in the past were any indication, Joomla 1.6 has quite a number of useful features that I find useful for website security (especially the permissions). I understand they will include also some features that I have requested from Joomlart for newsmagazine templates — the ability to link articles to multiple sections/categories as they normally do in commercial newsmagazines.

For the record, if you examine the overall postings of non-moderator members, I rank among the top-tiers among subscribing non-moderator members who have received most of the number of “Thank You’s”. Most of them were hard-earned “Thank You’s” not simply “token Thanks” given by one member to another because one simply agrees with the opinion or did not like what was stated by another.

I did not cumulate my points by posting simple “one liners”.

In fact, many of the points over the years, I have accumulated, with gratitude from Joomlart staff, not simple tokens from moderators, because I have helped resolved some of the bugs that bedeviled the staff when there was not much support here.

Is it the position of Joomlart then to renege on its promise to honor the credits generated by members for garnering all those points during the entire duration of their membership with Joomlart?

I would like to hear the opinion of Hung on this.

    Cornelio
