I am not getting the results I was looking for with the template install. I did try to install the quickstart install first but I kept getting a time out error.

What would I do to delete this install, and start fresh with the quickstart without the time out error?

The time out error is likely an issue with either your own computer or your webhost’s server.

As for starting over, all you need to do is clear out/delete all the files within the directory you installed Joomla.
hen it is clear (as it was before you started), then you can start over.
