Hi,
I am considering buying a one year Template Club membership but I’m afraid I’m a bit confused about what constitutes ‘customisation’ – which is only permitted for developers.
An obvious example is the site logo – is it permitted to change it? Well, obviously everybody will want there own site logo but won’t it be necessary to edit the css to do this?
And if you are permitted to edit css, are you permitted to change styles.
I suspect the answer must be somewhere on the site but I have searched the forum without any success.
August 31, 2009 at 12:20 pm #315842I think I found my answer. Thanks.

August 31, 2009 at 12:44 pm #315844Hi nicored,
There are two types of subscriptions, one is standard membership of JATC (Joomlart Template Club), which allows you to change the template files to your preferences, but restricts from removing copyright of Joomlart.com from the files or footer.
Developer Members are allowed to remove the copyright info, but even they can not claim the design to be their own.

I’m just considering my options at the moment. There are three news templates from three different developers which I am considering – all via template clubs – but to be honest, the other two offer better deals in that they are cheaper, allow more domains (not of huge importance to me) and have unlimited modules.
As far as the designs are concerned, there isn’t much in it for me. I’m thinking about it.

If you are looking for news templates i think you will be interested in the upcoming release of JA teline III. JA is introducing his new framework wich will give you much more flexibility and module positions. The template is also compatible with viewing on the iphone etc.
The preview is available in the member section of the forum only but here is some information about it:

August 31, 2009 at 1:18 pm #315847It would be nice to be able to see what it looks like.
Anyway, I’m not in a huge rush as I have to develop a strategy for migrating a 300+ page static site to Joomla without losing incoming links. Once I have sorted that out I’ll be shopping.
