I did a restore of my site and now my editor(articles) does not work, before the restore custom html codes and html tags were working but now the editor is not using the tags so even if I paste a code in the editor, it shows the code on my frontend

No one has an idea why my codes placed in the editor are showing up on the front page,
and even if I write an article and use the following tag <p> in front of the first sentence, at the front end it shows the tag <p> at the begining, seems like html are not being translated by the editor

    Hi akwasi_c

In Admin, go to Global Config and check that the Default WYSIWYG Editor is set to Tiny MCE (or JCE, etc.), and not to ‘No Editor’:

If it’s set to ‘No Editor’ then you will get the code appearing.

Well questgb, It is set to tinyMCE and I had to turn it off before the code would be accepted, turn I tuned it back on. All this seems to happened with I restored my site, before when I wanted to insert an image by clicking image button, and selecting alignment and caption, when I click insert, it paste the code, but now it paste the picture in the editor, and read more also used to place a code, but now it places a red line where I wanted the break.
Before I could put a tag infront of a sentence like <p> but now when I type <p> it appears as <p> at the front page

    Hi

This is quite normal. The ‘Read More’ should give a red line.

If you have the TinyMCE Editor set to on, then you can’t enter code when creating articles, otherwise it will always show in the front end.

If you want a <p>, just put a return, if you want <strong> just click the ‘Bold’ icon in the Editor, etc.

The only way you can enter code in an article when the Editor is activated, and you don’t want the code to show on front end, is to click the ‘HTML’ tab in the Editor and enter the code in that window. This will make sure that the code is in the article, but will not show in front end.

    Hope this works!

    Chris
