Email icons ( pdf / print / email ) availale in every article shows up to from / send pop-up box but emai does not go. It gives following error on tiopof the popup:

Could not instantiate mail function.
E-mail could not be sent.
‘ unquote

similarly, in user registeration process email is required to be sent to the user, however it does not happen, emal is never reieved.

All above indicates that email function is not working.
Please help

This has nothing to do with Joomla or your template. It is your PHP configuration or your server configuration.

If you are running XAMPP or WAMPP you need to enable the email ‘server’.

If you are hosted elsewhere, you need to speak to your support.
