I would like to lose the empty space at the end of the top menu, so that the menu items are spread out over the entire menu bar. How do I do this? (see attached .jpg)
Also, How can I move the header up, so it is placed alongside the grey bar? (see attached .jpg).

You can try change this::
#ja-current-content {template.css (line 546)
padding: 10px 15px;
}to
#ja-current-content {template.css (line 546)
padding: 0 15px 10px;
