August 9, 2011 at 1:21 pm #405140Hi,
did You tried with clean Joomla install?
I guess the problem comes after installing Joomla 1.6 Beta and after this updating to Stable version.
There are numerous changes in the database and they didn’t apply after updating to Stable.Regards

August 10, 2011 at 2:51 pm #405425Hi icbl,
Please tell me how you installed the Joomla, cPanel or what?
Thanks**EDIT**
If you are having the same issues with a 1.7 install as well, and this is not a live site, I would wipe the entire site clean, clear all cache, hosting, computer, site, everything you can, and then I would do a FRESH download of the 1.6 OR 1.7 files.
It would be best to just use 1.7 as 1.6 will be at end of life soon, 1.7 replaces and poeple are already fussing about the 1.8.
I will presume this is not a site that is live as that would entail too many custom mods in the future for you and those mods would need to be VERY soon.
So, going on the thought this is only a test site, I would encourage you to please try the 1.7 CLEAN install. There are some FREE 1.7 templates available already to “play” with.
Good download link for 1.6 is:

August 10, 2011 at 8:04 pm #405483Hi,
My site is live (php web site- not joomla). CPanel used. To test joomla templates I creating subfolders under my domain name and creating database for it and installing the template freshly. Since I am interesting with JA Social and -as I mentioned in my previous message- I already playing with 1.7! and getting same error. Just a quick update, when I install with sample data problem goes away!!! Without sample data problem comes back.
I also would like to install 1.7 but JA Social 1.7 not available and who knows when it will be available. Wasted by waiting JA Social for Joomla 1.6, months and still could not introduce the new web site.Phill ModeratorPhill

August 10, 2011 at 8:40 pm #405488Best bet at this time would be to install with the sample data and then delete it. I know it is a pain but there does appear to be a bug with Joomla causing this. It is being investigate but I have no idea when or even if it will be fixed. It seems unlikely since J1.6 is soo to be out of support.
As for JA Social for J1.7 the upgrades are underway and I am certain it will not be long before we see it. The upgrade of JA Social from J1.5 to J1.6 was a big job and held back by the lack of third party support as you are well aware. The upgrade to J1.7 is a relatively simple one. I have a version running on my localhost with a few minor bugs which I am sure the devs are working on. Testing is in full flow on the upgrading of JA’s 1.6 to 1.7 templates and I am certain there will be an announcement very soon.
