I’ve been able to upload/install all of the following files via the Extension Manager, however, I’m getting this error message Error! Could not find a Joomla! XML setup file in the package. for the qs_j158_ja_telineii.zip

This is the file that I’ve just downloaded:
JA Teline II for joomla 1.5 : Quickstart included Joomla! 1.5.9 + Template, Extensions installation packages (10.77 MB) Version 1.6

Please advise.

You need to unzip that file as it contains a lot of stuff. If you want the quickstart that is a complete joomla install so will not work via extension manager. If you just want the template, that is in the template folder you will see when you unzip but make sure you also upload the extensions in there too.

Once installed there are a few things you will need to setup to get everything working as per the demo site. Best to install the quickstart on your desktop so you can compare settings.
