March 9, 2012 at 3:25 am #174785I’m using Joomla 2.5.1 and I keep getting this error message “-1 – An error has occured” when I try to install JA_social to 2.5.0 from 1.2.0. I am trying to install the template only. I really don’t want to start over using 2.5.0 quickstart.
I also installed JA_ext_manager and still can’t accomplish this update and it is becoming quite frustrating. Can you please help? I also have JomSocial 2.4.2 installed.
Thank you.

March 13, 2012 at 10:42 pm #443510Hi,
Ok, I am now updated but have a few questions.
Q1: I updated using JA_ext_manager. Will I always need to update Ja_social with JA_ext manager?
Q2: Also, I updated JAT3 using JA_ext_manager because I was having problems installing with Joomla 2.5.1’s extension manager. Now, I see JAT3 shows in JA_ext_manager as being updated successfully but in Joomla’s extension manager it shows the old version 1.6.0. Can you explain why this is?
Q3: The new JA_social template update did not fix my JomSocial frontpage problems (i.e, image rollovers do not show up in that black comment bubble. They still show up as plain text). Also, some of the modules do not have margins. Images below illustrate this.
Thanks.

No, but it seems easier to me to do it that way. FTP is fine though.

Have you refreshed the page and checked perms are good and the update occurred?

And you have also checked Joomla and ALL extensions are up to date?

March 15, 2012 at 11:26 pm #443891Q2: Yes, I also emptied the cache, logged out but I still get a successful load in ja_ext_manager. Version 1.6.0 still shows up in Joomla ext manager. See attached 2 images:
Q3: Yes, I have reloaded extension, mods, plugs, but it doesn’t fix it. When JomSocial is default template it is fine but not when Ja_social is default (and of course that is where I need it to work).

March 16, 2012 at 2:07 am #443899I can not access the Joomla Admin with info provided. Please adjust this so i may see.
Also please tell me HOW you have cleared the cache.
In Joomla 2.5, there is a refresh cache button at the top of the page. Have you used this? Please also describe the other ways you have cleared the cache or allow me backend access.
Thanks!joombee Friendjoombee

March 18, 2012 at 12:35 am #444240I sent my credentials to you via pm. This was another Ja_social template problem that occurs (photos are cut off). I thought this was to have been fixed in you new Ja_social 2.5 template update…but it didn’t get corrected in mine when I updated. Thanks

I have just checked and this is what your site shows me regarding the T3 framework, so it appears to be updated.:
<blockquote>You have successfully upgraded from version 1.6.0 to version 2.5.1 at 13 Mar 2012, 23:02:58</blockquote>And I do not see template is updated, i get this message from the Extension manger:
<blockquote>JA_Social JoomlArt.com

New version found!
– 2.5.1 [New! 2012-03-14] Change log – Compare – Upgrade now</blockquote>
I also find it very odd that your PHP Version is 5.3.10. May I ask who your host is?joombee Friendjoombee

March 22, 2012 at 1:32 am #445027Blaine,
I already told you T3 framework shows 2.5.1. The point was Extension Manager shows 1.6.0. We already knew that.
JA_Social shows current version 2.5.0 (so, I didn’t update to 2.5.1…big woop.) Its current enough.
My host is CloudAccess.net. I have no idea why that matters. Yes, my PHP version is 5.3.10. Is that a problem?
All I see is my template issues don’t seem to be getting addressed and I don’t know what to do. Blaine, that is why I am asking for your help, please…before more time goes by here. Can you now go in and fix these issues? I would appreciate the active support. You already have my credentials.
Thank you.

March 22, 2012 at 4:01 am #445041Please clear your cache as we no longer see the image issues.
Have you customized the code?
I copied and pasted that message from the Extension manager. Are you saying the version of extension manager is 1.6? As long as no updates show you are fine.
As far as the version being a big woop in your opinion or not, DEV’s do not make new versions unless something is being corrected and I feel that was a reasonable suggestion, take it or not. That is totally your call.
i am trying to help you and I feel that permissions are in issues with the first issue posted.
If you do not feel I am helping then I would be happy to ask someone else to step in who may serve you better as my ONLY goal is customer satisfaction.joombee Friendjoombee

March 23, 2012 at 2:09 am #445258Hello,
Please let me know what other issues you are facing even though i managed to check your website and i can tell that some of the add on software you have installed need to be updated.
Also here’s some images i can see on your website.
This specific module possition has no CSS code either in jomsocial template (default) nor any other template if you need this module i suggest that you can make use on a module sufix to adjust the look or you can write your own CSS code to style it they way you cant (even copy and paste some CSS code from an other module position)
I wasn’t able to reproduce the issues i can see on your other screen shots so please advice.
Regards
