June 21, 2016 at 4:21 am #942308Hi, I’ve downloaded & installed JA Magz II using quick start. I get errors when I try to save articles in my (localhost) dev website with Tags. I found on a Joomla web forum another user who had the same problem when installing your Purity III template via quick start. He was told some items, like Tags, are not created by the quick start install. Should I download the full Joomla 3.5.1 & "upgrade" over the top of my dev website?
BTW, here is the link to the Joomla forum topic I found with the same error as I’m experiencing: http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?t=895521

June 21, 2016 at 4:46 am #942318Hi,
I have downloaded quickstart JA Magz II template and installed it at my end but I could not duplicate this bug. Please have a look at my video here.
Besides that, you can provide me admin login backend of your site via private reply. I will help you to check this.

June 21, 2016 at 5:09 am #942331Thanks, but it’s a dev (localhost) website running on MAMP, so you can’t log into it.
I’m now trying to rebuild the dev website using a full Joomla 3.5.1 install and your template and T3 plug-in extensions, without quickstart. I’ll let you know how I get on creating articles with Tags in this environment.
PS. I did test it with another website I have built on your Purity III template and Tags worked fine. However, I did not use quickstart on this website.

June 21, 2016 at 7:00 am #942355Hi again, I have rebuilt my dev website using the full Joomla 3.5.1 and installing your JA Magz II template and extensions individually rather than from quickstart – no problems saving articles with Tags.
I understand you can’t reproduce the error, but it’s there for me if I use the quickstart installed version, exactly as it was for the Purity III template user who reported the error in the Joomla forum:
http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?t=895521If I stumble across an answer, I’ll let you know.

June 22, 2016 at 2:41 am #942701I requested our dev to check this again but they couldn’t reproduce the error. You can try to do this way.
- Go to Admin -> Extensions-> Manage -> Database -> Click Fix button
If you could not solve this bug, may you give me the credential info of your site via private reply. I will help you to check it

August 17, 2016 at 10:46 am #960788Thanks, I was going to ask if I could reproduce the QuickStart install manually by installing and configuring the Magz II template and individual JA components, because in addition to the problem I’ve had saving Articles with Tags, I noticed the QuickStart install creates a bunch of aclmailing tables in the database and I’d rather keep the database as clean as possible.
I will try following the guild to configure my website as per your demo.

August 18, 2016 at 4:42 am #960995@rocher: I think the problem under tag component on your site to regard about upgrading Joomla version because the TAG table is empty and you need to insert first data to the table (you can use PHPMyAdmin to run sql query)
INSERT INTO abcde_tags (id, parent_id, lft, rgt, level, path, title, alias, note, description, published, checked_out, checked_out_time, access, params, metadesc, metakey, metadata, created_user_id, created_time, created_by_alias, modified_user_id, modified_time, images, urls, hits, language, version, publish_up, publish_down) VALUES (1, 0, 0, 43, 0, '', 'ROOT', 'root', '', '', 1, 0, '0000-00-00 00:00:00', 1, '{}', '', '', '', 0, '2011-01-01 00:00:01', '', 0, '0000-00-00 00:00:00', '', '', 0, '*', 1, '0000-00-00 00:00:00', '0000-00-00 00:00:00');
with "abcde_" is database prefix and you have to change it as database prefix on your site. Hope it helps

August 18, 2016 at 5:00 am #961006Thanks for your response. I did see a similar post in your forum and tried it without success, though that may be to do with the values I inserted into tables – here is the post link:
https://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/article-not-saving-with-tags/
It is interesting that the error does not occur on a fresh Joomla install, but only if I use QuickStart. Somewhere else I read that QuickStart does not create all the tables (like Tag), but that sounds silly as surely if it’s a fresh Joomla install or QuickStart you have to create all the Joomla tables?

August 18, 2016 at 11:31 am #961099Hi, Thanks for your continued feedback, but I’ve downloaded QuickStart from the linked download page a number of times before, installed locally (under MAMP) and on the testing area on my website, and it always results in the "Save failed" error if I try to save an Article with a Tag.
That said, re-reading what you’ve done, perhaps I haven’t installed the Sample Data and this may be why the Tag isn’t created? I will try testing this tomorrow (my time – it’s almost bedtime in Sydney now) and let you know how I get on.

August 23, 2016 at 6:50 am #962278Hi, I tried the install from the link:
- The error still occurs if you use Quickstart but do not install the Sample Data
- The error does not occur if you install the Sample Data.
I don’t want to install the Sample Data. Is there a way to install the JA Magz II template with its full functionality and Article Tags working without Quickstart?
