First, thank you for the Bistro template. The design is very nice, and saving me time compared to building from scratch.

However, I have trouble accessing the template features, via the extension manager. When I open the JA Bistro template, the page is mangled (like css is missing) and the console shows errors like:

Uncaught TypeError: Object has no method 'addEvent'
index.php:74Uncaught ReferenceError: JAT3_PAGEIDSETTINGS is not defined
index.php:912Uncaught ReferenceError: japh_addgroup_t3 is not defined
index.php:1068Uncaught ReferenceError: japh_addgroup_t3 is not defined
Observer.js:12Uncaught ReferenceError: Class is not defined
Autocompleter.js:13Uncaught ReferenceError: Class is not defined
Autocompleter.Request.js:13Uncaught ReferenceError: Class is not defined
index.php:1181Uncaught TypeError: Object has no method 'addEvent'
jathemesettings.js:12Uncaught ReferenceError: Class is not defined
index.php:1438Uncaught TypeError: Object has no method 'addEvent'
index.php:1612Uncaught TypeError: Object has no method 'addEvent'
index.php:1870Uncaught TypeError: Object has no method 'addEvent'
index.php:1932Uncaught ReferenceError: Joomla is not defined
index.php:1971Uncaught ReferenceError: $ is not defined

I am using the JA Bistro quick-start package. I installed a few other things, like Phoca Gallery. After it happened, I tried reinstalling the t3 framework and template, to no avail. Could there be some javascript conflict? Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

    Hi Hennen,

I think I solved this by copying the system javascript files from another, working joomla install. Or perhaps updating the joomla version? Can’t quite recall.

    Hope it helps,

Actually, now that I recall, I never did fix this. No one from JA ever logged into my server, so I just edited params.ini instead. I assume the error has to do with enabling the js and/or css compression module?
