Hello,

i am really new here and maybe my fist question is very silly but
for me very important.

if i want to sell here in europe a website, there are some basics in
usual usability.

one of them is, that all kind of main navigation “must” be on the left side (also combined top).
it is like beginning reading the latin way from left to right.

very happy to have this full developper account i started to try to install some templates
and i am very astonished that “modul positions left” is not really left. in all the templates
i tried now, the content is on the left side, then “left” on the right side of the content and more rignt comes modul position right.

sorry for my english. i mean the way like in the template “avian”.

i cannot find a way that “left” ist really left. left ist on the right side of the content .

this means to me, that it will bie absolutely impossible to offer this templates.

it looks to me like an asian or arabian way beginning the things from right to left.

before i will install and frustrating more, i want to ask if it is at joomlart usual that
modul position “left” ist on the right side or if i am too stupid to change that
“left” ist really left (left from the content).

till now i know only rockettheme templates and i vever had this (for me strange) positions.

hopefully i do not harm with this questions. the templates are beautiful but
i fear, that i cannot sell them. here nobody will buy a website with navigation
on the right side.

First, to take your words by the meaning:

You are allowed to create websites for clients from the templates you have here, BUT you are in no way allowed to resell those, meaning the only one who would have to accomodate to any issues you mention is the designer, meaning you. Just to make that clear. You can’t put those templates as demos on your site and sell those to third persons like Joomlart.com does. You can however create sites for as much clients as you have with those templates.;)

Second, overall in the templates I tried and use from here, position left is on the left and right is on the right. In some cases, when there is no position in left there is no position on the left. In some other clubs’ templates you may see positions like userX and userY and userZ below each other on the left side of the templates where normally only one postion called left is seated.

From my experience I never had the case that suddenly postion left and right switch and I also do not see here any arabic ways of aligning positions…:D

All I can say, maybe others will tell you different things, but have fun here anyway!:)

Hi Dacapo, welcome to the forum.

When Joomlart say ‘Left’ they do not mean the left side of the page. They mean the Left column. Joomlart templates usually have 3 vertical areas like so…

Left Column – Main Column – Right Column

but sometimes they have…

Main Column – Left Column – Right Column

or…

Left Column – Right Column – Main Column

They also sometimes have a ‘Mass Column‘ which is a module position that spans across the left and right columns.

If you have a template that has the left position on the right side of the page and you want it on the left side of the page then post this on the forums and I’m sure someone will be happy to help you switch it over.

I agree that it is ‘normal’ to have vertical menus on the left of the page but if your site is designed well I think a menu on the right can work well. JA Teline would be a good example of this and it’s possibly the most popular template here.

Hello,

i do understand your attack to warn me to sell templates and i do not have any intention to this.

my englisch is maybe very poor but i think i wrote clear in the beginning:

how can i sell a website without selling with the template. i mean to create a website and to use for this website a “joomlart template” ?

i do not sell templates, i sell websites and maybe in the further was i expressed myself wrong.
i accepted the conditions and i am not criminal. i was really convinced, that i am allowed to put
a joomlart template for my clients websites. for what else should i need it. i do not need 68 templates
for my own website.

so i bought (in my opinion) in a real correct way an 500$ account where i thought that i read that
i can use this templates also “unlimited” domains. i did not know that i cannot use them in comercial way “selling” sites with templates or use them in my own sites as demo. i was used to show clients websites because they will not buy if i say them that i am not allowed to show waht i sell and that they have to go to the designers page to see what template i will put on their future website.

so thank you very much!!! i´m really sorry to have made you thingking about me so bad !
i am just a webmaster who wanted to make websites for his clients with the templates here.

one more i excuse, maybe i installed the wrong templates. i have got only with
left column on the right side or left an right column “beneath” both on the right side which
i never saw and makes me unable to use them.

i got convinced now that it is too much risk to use joomlart templates at all
or to ask simple tecnical questions without getting the imagine of a thief.

it seems to me that is too much risk to receive problems with aut

i was used to believe that “left” is a module position which is fo its name on the left side.

so “left” can be anywhere and mean also “left column” … on the extreme right side.

i understand it now but i fear that i am too stupid to memorize
this.

in this syntax top can be at bottom and bottom at top …?

anyway. thank you very much for mentalizing the sence of my question so exact!

it better for me not to write english, my spanish would be much clearer.

Mr Scotty, have you forgotten who here played the sheriff and told members who were unlicensed they use templates illegally, I came in and mentioned that this is not the right way…later on the member even was licensed, maybe licensed again or willing to pay….

I only remind, SAME AS YOU OFTEN DID WITH EVEN RUDE WORDS, that when a user mentioned “I SELL TEMPLATES” also when the english is bad “THAT A FRIENDLY REMINDER NOT TO SELL THOSE IN CASE SOMEONE WITH NOT SO GOOD ENGLISH PROBABLY DID NOT UNDERSTAND THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS THE RIGHT WAY”.

!! Pleace peace !!

i was opening this thread with a simple first “tecnical” question and it seems to me
that i got inbetween something “insider discussion” about using JA templates.

If it will help or end this discussion: i sure did not want to open that and

i will NOT USE any JA templates never !!! too dangerous for me
wahtever i paid for it!

So if there is no use, there is no discussion, no war.

if there is a administrator i woul be glad to delete this thread and also my
account because i got so negative energy with the JA templates that i even
wouldn´t pass this to my clients if i would be allowed to do this.

i am really sad to open this discussion without any bad meaning
and i did not know that this forum is a battlefield for template violation…
