September 19, 2015 at 12:18 pm #730870The appearance of items on the Events page has changed when I select individual events:
http://goturpin.com/index.php/single-article/teline-v-events/361-powder-puff-football-game-sept-28
It has lost the backgroup look, etc.
Here is what happened right before: I wanted to remove the “date created” from the options page of the Events menu page because it often confused people when the went to an event; they saw the “date created” page was much older than the actual event. So in Options, I turned it Hide, as well as hiding the author.
When I went to check the event page items, it removed the way it looked like (with background photo, etc) and made it look bland.
How can I get that back?
Thanks

September 21, 2015 at 4:40 am #749147Hi timpennington,
When I access event article: Powder Puff Football Game, Sept. 28 from home page or event page, it always directs to this page:
http://goturpin.com/index.php/teline-v-events/361-powder-puff-football-game-sept-28
and you can see that it displays properly.
How can I access this URL? http://goturpin.com/index.php/single-article/teline-v-events/361-powder-puff-football-game-sept-28
In this URL, you will see that the path is different and seems there is another menu item point to this article and it’s assigned with default template style, not the same with style used in Event page
Kindly check and remove that page.
Regards

September 21, 2015 at 8:55 pm #749226Hi and Thanks:
After I posted my issue, I saw that I had a new Teline version to update and I did; it seemed to put things back.
Here’s my question: I want to remove the author and date created from the events item (the created date seems to confuse people as to when the actual event is taking place)
I’m hestitant to go in and change it on the Events page to remove author and create date in that it will mess it up again; any advice?
thanks

September 22, 2015 at 3:33 am #749245If you want to hide the date in events page only, try to use this css rule:
.events dd.published.hasTooltip {
display: none;
}
in the file: root/templates/ja_teline_v/css/custom.css

September 22, 2015 at 9:15 pm #749394Thanks, I’ll try that … but curious, this is a workaround; if I turn off authors and dates, will it lose all the Event formatting?

September 22, 2015 at 9:18 pm #749395Hi … so I added the custom coding, and now the formatting is broken again ….
http://goturpin.com/index.php/single-article/teline-v-events/361-powder-puff-football-game-sept-28
http://goturpin.com/index.php/single-article/teline-v-events/367-fall-sports-awards
Do you know why it did that?

September 23, 2015 at 2:00 am #749402Do you have any 3rd party extension for SEF url installed on your site? as you can see that it directs to a different page instead of events page. And when I try to turn OFF the SEF option in global configuration, it works.

September 23, 2015 at 6:17 pm #749514I don’t believe I have any 3rd party SEF installed.

September 24, 2015 at 7:13 am #749567If there is no SEF extension installed, then there is another menu item on your site is pointing to this event article so it causes the conflict like that.
Anyway, it seems to work now, let me know if you need further helps.
