Is there an actual event registration component for this template or is it all a bunch of BS? Are you supposed to use a 3rd party to integrate? If so, which one? This seems like just another ball drop by Hung and company.

    Hi Alpinvp
There isn’t any event registration component included, but there are plenty out there.
I have used Registration Pro by Joomlashowroom.com with success. I think you are confusing placeholders and blocks that are SUITABLE for things such as an event registration extension with the template, as coming WITH such an extension.

While it would be super convenient if JA produced some kind of event management extension to suit a template named EVENTS :). Even I, with a bias towards over servicing clients. Would find it hard to think JA would develop and give away complex extensions to suit purpose built template features.

But I do think there is a market for a events registration/manager extension to be developed for JA Events by JA. The benefits are obvious, “JA made the template(s) They have full control over the extensions and css. Same goes for a JA equivelent of JomSocial, no more hearing, “can’t update the template to J1.6 XX till all the editors, plugins and components etc have been updated by 3rd party developers”.

Even if we have to join JAEC to get some of the more complex extensions I think JA would streamline integration whilst maintaining their high quality programming.
Food for thought by Hung & Co?
