That would/will require a bit of CSS re-styling.

Was there no other – more simpler – Event Calendar extension available on the Joomla Extension Directory?

I had already purchased Spider Calendar for another client so I decided to use that. Bad idea?

No, not a bad idea . . . Unless this current client wants a different one.

But like I said, re-styling the one you have to resemble the one you linked to will take a bit of time and trial-and-error.
