I have the same problem. the event list module doesn’t link to the event detail page. I have a menu with the events category.
Please inform us about the solution and don’t inform on individual level.

I managed to get it working using the Quick Start installation. I have to do this due to the event date (09/08/2015), since I did not get to resolve the issue.

I’ve created an eventCharity category, assigned a couple of events to that, then I created a menu item “events” wich is a special blank page targeted on the eventCharity category and with the charity – event template that I created using your layout. Am I missing something?
