Hi Darvin,
Hi Moon.
Thanks for help.
I’m yet testing the last component version…
You can see the issue at this testing url.
http://cdc.fondazioneifel.it/index.php/documentation
I expected to see results only on selected category.
I’m actually work on it: any suggestion will be more than welcome.MoonSailor FriendMoonSailor

December 10, 2012 at 7:08 pm #475749Hi moon.
Thanks for your explain and help.
If I select one or more categories to search, then I’ll suppose to have results only inside these selected categories.
The component should exclude all the rest because it doesn’t make sense to have only 3 categories on 10 displayed in a drop-down if a default query (none = all) will show articles from all existing 10 categories.
I tried your code and it works as expected only with one category selected in backend.
If I choose more categories from the list in module options and then I search without selecting any category in the frontend the result is always null.
And it is always null also if I choose other parameters without selecting a category (on my testing page try with edizione = cittalia and no categories: expected result = 2 records obtained record = null).
So this is a search where the user is forced to use the right category to have some results…
What I’m looking for (but – in my honest opinion – what the component should do) is a search where the choosen categories in back end will also limit the default search.
I can say my problem is in part solved, beacause in the specific case I only need one category… but with this hack the search is finally broken.
Thanks a lot.MoonSailor FriendMoonSailor

Try with my above suggestion and if problem persists, PM me admin and FTP account of site you’re working on.
It’s better with a closer look to detect problem.
