This topic is not to get support on how to use the quickstart but just to tell that I starte up with the quickstart of JA Social but experienced a lot of troubles with this installation.

    Jomsocial was behaving odd.
    Jomsocial menus not showing
It seems that some inferior data are added to users.
Kunena modules was marked for updates but could no be updated.
When updating to Joomla 2.5.3 I got the version stated twice in backend.
    an so on.

Installing from scratch is working fine, but for most users it is a good way to start with the quickstart version, but with my experience this is not recommended.

A little more information would be helpfull.

Are you installing Jomsocial afterwards and which version of Jomsocial were you installing?
    Which Jomsocial Menus?
What particular data for the users are you having a problem with?
As for Kunena what error were you getting? I wasn’t aware that you can update Kunena from the back end even though updates are shown. I believe this is a Kunena issue.
Where did you see the duplicate version of J2.5.3?

The quickstart has been re-built in the last few days due to some issues so when did you download yours?

Ok… i will make a quickstart install and document each issue. It will take a day or two as I am short of time.

Many thanks. Please make sure you use the latest download of the quickstart. It is always helpful to get great feedback such as yours.

    Hi Phill,

Despite I am not experinced user I agree with henrik1782. I also noticed a couple strange behaviour with quickstart but I was blaming ISP’s configurations. This morning I opened a topic regarding details of home page articles. One of support member asked me username password for back end and I have sent a super user account to him/her, still waiting an attendance. BTW this is my fourth time giving creditentials, except Phill other support members not attending, maybe its my luck but I think its time to mentione it.

Thanks for your support and kind words.

As for giving credentials I know it is a pain giving them each time. I cannot comment on how other supporters work but I delete credentials 1 day after solving any users problem. It has not happened here, but on another support site I used to be quite active on the PM system got hacked and lots of PMs I had there contained credentials. Since then I always delete users details as per above. Hope you understand my choices there.

While on the subject of credentials it is always best when you provide us with details to creat an account just for us and then remove it when you are ready.

    ICBL,

As for your JA Social question I see Khoand is dealing with your problem. He is on a different timezone to me and I think he will probably be in bed at the moment. I will leave you in his capable hands but if you do not get a response get back to me via PM with a link to that thread and I will take a look for you. You would have to send me your credentials as we cannot see each others PMs plus please be aware that I have no Jomsocial experience but I do know the JA Social template quite well so hopefully I can help.

You will get my comments in pieces.. sorry.

This is from a fress install. Updates are listed for Kunena, but update dont work for these as it should do and installing newest version will not remove the update reminder.

Keep them coming. I have advised the devs to keep an eye on this thread.
