I have a Joomla 2.5.3 installation with HikaShop, but the Extension Manager reports that the HikaShop component, all associated plug ins and modules etc are Legacy, despite it being the latest 2.5 compatible component.

    Any clues? Thanks in advance.

    Sicic.

    Hi,

This is more of HikaShop and the way they have marked up their software, probably what they have done is that they have only one package for Joomla 1.5.x and J2.5.x

It is indeed a single version, but wholly compatible with 2.5. I think if you expect users to use the Joomlart extension manager, it needs to be a little more accurate in its reporting. Rather than the huge ‘legacy’ button alongside extensions, which implies that the plug in is in fact legacy, would it not be more appropriate to say that you’re unable to verify it? As it stands it sent me down a blind alley attempting to fix a problem that wasn’t there.

Well “legacy” has a complete different meaning than in J.1.5.x versions from what i get but still you might be right and i might be wrong.

There’s only one thing i can assure you, that JA dev’s are trying hard to make that tool even more flexible and practical and i will mention your comments so they can come up with a solution in the near feature. 🙂

Any kind of criticism about our tools is a good criticism and well accepted 🙂
