    Hi,

    Urgently need help here please…

Extensions won’t install, the page times out and goes to the browser error page – but then when you reload the page, the component has actually installed!

Also getting a database error with K2 creating an article – K2 says it hasn’t worked, but then going back into K2 items, the article is actually there?

Any ideas? Really need to fix this urgently – deadline tomorrow!

    Thanks in advance,
    Matt

    Hi Matt,

    <blockquote>the page times out</blockquote>
    >> With this kind of error, you should check the max_execution_time in your server, increase its value may be helpful here.

If problem still persists, you can pm me an admin account and tell me the extension you want to installl, I will check for you.

    Hi Saguaros,

Thanks for your reply – you always seem to be at hand!
Unfortunately my hosting is on 1&1 shared, so I don’d have access to configure my php file…

Is there a way to overwrite the default php.ini somehow?

    Cheers,
    Matt

    Dear Matt,

In this case, you can try to edit .htaccess (located in the root of your website, usually accessible by FTP), and add this line:

    php_value max_execution_time 120

where 120 is the number of seconds you wish to set the maximum execution time for a php script.

    Regards
