    Hello
    I am using a recipes extension ( yoorecipes ), the landing page works fine. problem is when people click on recipes and go to single recipe page view. the side modules move to the bottom of the page below the recipe, log in, search, footer menu move about to where they are not supposed to. I contacted support from the extension developers and they suggested I do the following.

    ” This problem seems to be related to your template. A solution would consist in lowering the width of main content (span7 instead of span8) or to lower left and right padding applied to your ja-content or ja-sidebar element.

    Example:
    <section id=”ja-mainbody” class=”ja-mainbody wrap”>
    <div class=”container”>
    <div class=”row”>
    <div id=”ja-content” class=”ja-content span7″>
    <div class=”ja-sidebar span4″>
    </div>
    </div>
    </section>
    Hope this helps, ”

    I do not want to change anything that might break the whole template. is the above safe to do? and what file do I need to change? if I copy the default layout and customise it then assign it to the recipes menu, would that work?

    Hello. thank you for your support.

    The footer and search are now correctly positioned. however the log in is still in the wrong place. the recipes landing page is now too close to the right side bar. the whole website has changed now in fact. everything is moved to the left with a huge padding on the right. position 7 is practically dead and nothing in it can be functional now. its all squashed. everything in position 5 or on the right side bar in general is too close to the main content on all the pages, including the recipes landing page.

    perhaps instead of editing the default layout. I could copy a layout give it the name recipelayout and assign it only to the recipes page? this will still require fixing the login position and main content being too close to the right side bar.

    Thank you for your time and efforts in helping us.

    Work it out as you have described here , also post a screenshot of the collapse .

    Hello
    The log in and banner are still in the wrong place.

    The changes that were made effected the layout of all other pages in the website which is not desired. I made a separate layout and copied all the single edited blocks to it and assigned it to the recipes page, and I also deleted postion7 from it which helped make things look neat as they are meant to be. now when you click on any recipe on the recipe landing page it goes to a single recipe page and looks ok. except the log in and banner are in the wrong place. the rest of the website looks normal as it was before.

    When clicking on a single recipe from the latest recipe module on the home page. it sends you to a single recipe page and it still comes out all broken. I guess thats because it depends where you are when you click on the recipe link

    Single recipe from recipe landing page >>> websitename/index.php/food/recipe/4-rainbow-cookies

    The same single recipe from latest recipe module in home page >>> websitename/index.php/component/yoorecipe/recipe/4-rainbow-cookies

    how can I get rid of the component path and make the home page latest recipe module link to the menu path instead? I know in k2 people solved this issue by creating a hidden k2 category menu according to the forums.

    Thank you

    Hello

    Can you please explain what are you doing and to what files? takes me days to fix damage to the rest of the website layout caused by attempting to fix one page.

    Other than the banner and logo being in the wrong place, there are few more not very critical but are issues, extra space to the right of position 5 modules and the same for social icons. search icon cut in half. extra black line in position 7 slowing down other extensions ( fixed that by deleting position 7 from the layout ) still dont know what that black line was.

    Is there an answer to my question in my last post by any chance?

    1. how can I get rid of the component path and make the home page latest recipe module link to the menu path instead?

    – you need to use the SEF component or you need to contact the developer of the component for search engine friendly Urls

    whats Next ? lets fix one by one. post me the next issue you have.

    After contacting the extension developer again, we ended up disabling Bootstrap all together for this extension which has fixed the issue without the need to edit template files. everything fits in the template perfectly now.
    Thank you for your time and patience in trying to solve this problem.
    Have a nice day
