Hi! I just installed this plugin. At the moment I´m not using extra fields at my site, but now I will start to add them to every article/item (2400) at my site. Since this is very big thing to do, I have couple questions to make sure that I`m doing everything right way.

Question 1:

Does my extra field types be same, what I want to use at search module?

For example: I want to set color of my product as red. I will use drop-down selection to select color when I make item. Can I use this extra field at search module as multi-selection list to search products with different colors same time, or does extra-field value at search module match the one I created for K2, in this case drop-down selection.

Question 2:

Can I index my extra fields to search module before I have assigned extra fields or added values from them to items? Will it update automatically when I start to add them to items? Will pressing indexing couple times cause duplication to my database?

Yes, you can.
– You can create extrafield named as “color of product” with type “Drop-down selection” then add value of color: “Green”,”Orange”,”Red”,…
– Assign it to categories, in each item of categories, assign extrafield: “color of product” as “red” or “Orange”,..

– With modules, you can search with keyword “red”, “orange”,… as dropdown selectection, radio buttons, checkbox buttons ..

Yes, you can. Plugin will index automatically after you save items of k2 component.
