Hi,
I am building a site with the primary need to display a football player catalog grouped by field position.
For that purpose I am using JA Puresite with k2 categories configured by football player field position, and items by player,
On Item View, I need to show in addition to the main image (player picture), a second image showing the position of the player on the field , according to the category to which it belongs (all players belonging to the same category must have the same image)
Could you help me to add a second image on k2 item for that purpose?
Example images attached
Thanks in advance
Gustavo

As I understand your question that:
– You will have an extra field for ‘position’ of player: Striker, Midfielder, Back, ….
– In item view – show player – the player who has a position will show associated image of that position. You can try this way:
– create a new extra fields group in K2 called Position
– create new extra fields for this ‘Position’ group like: Striker, Midfielder, Back, Goalkeeper, … you will need to select ‘image‘ type for these extra fields and add default image for each field.
– In K2 item, which shows info of player, for example, Lionel Messi – he is a striker so you will select ‘Striker’ extra fields for him. Then it will have default image added above.Once done, remember to clean JAT3 cache.

October 22, 2015 at 10:39 pm #706636Hi Saguaros,
You understands OK.
The situation is that I am already using a K2 extra field group (called characteristics) with 5 extra fields (position, age, country, skilled foot and team), associated to k2 categories ( Striker, Midfielder, Back, Goalkeeper, …) in order to show that fields in Item view category listing. (image attached)
Now I’m not getting associate a different extra field group to item View, In order to do what you suggest.
,
Is there any way to associate to item View, a different extra field group than in its parent category?regards
Thanks in advanceGustavo

October 23, 2015 at 1:08 am #706640For consistency, the item should inherit from its own group so you can try by changing above fields to be groups (position, age, skilled,…)

October 26, 2015 at 5:49 pm #719008Then, transformig fields into group my questions are:
1 – Could I associate more than one group to a category?
2 – In case, as you suggest, with group position associated to a category, Could I make vissible the corresponding image to position group on Item View but hide the image at Item View Category Listing?
regardsGustavo

By default, K2 only allows to assign one Extra Fields group to one category only.

2 – In case, as you suggest, with group position associated to a category, Could I make vissible the corresponding image to position group on Item View but hide the image at Item View Category Listing?
regards
The extra field ( the image of a position in this case) will display in Item View, the Category Listing will show the image of item only.
