URGENT: I have the Facebook and Tweet share and like buttons. When people are sharing the items it is sharing the wrong URL’s. Exmaple: Actual URL http://www.mysite.com/item/23-article-title
    Shared URL http://www.mysite.com/component/content/article/23

It does this for all the articles..

    Global Config:
    Search Engine Friendly URLs Yes
    Use Apache mod_rewrite Yes
    Add suffix to URLs No

I have changed htaccess to .htaccess
    J! 1.5.25
    K2 1.6.4
Facebook and Twitter plugins are 1.0.4 latest
    Latest JA Social

I cleared all your caches, checked in the items that were not checked in, created a test account and then shared a link onto my FB wall. All appears to be working correctly.
please clear all your caches and confirm the same.
    Thanks!

    Hi Matt!
Haven’t had a response back from you and I was wondering how you are coming with this.
    Thanks!

    Blaine,
Hey I’m not sure which share feature you tested, I forgot to mention in the original post. The plugins for the K2 items are not working properly. The current share layout on our live site is not using the JaSocial plugins, I am using my ShareThis account and placed the button code in a table that is left aligned to mimic the plugin. The problem with this is that I have several writers that need to be able to submit their content without having to add this table and ShareThis code snippets manually for each item. If you’d like to test it enable the plugins one at a time and try on the frontend, if you could disable after testing cause it is a live site that would be appreciated. If you have some time later tonight I will be able to chat with you while your working on it via skype or msn etc…

I simply created an account, went to an article, as well as a coupon and said I wanted to share on my FB page and they both appeared on my FB page.
Maybe I am misunderstanding as you mention authors.
Do you want them to share or be able to add articles?

If you currently click on the share button yes it will work. BUT the share buttons that are on the site currently are not the JA Social Plugins.

The share buttons on the site currently have been manually added to each article by myself. The plugins are intended to add the share boxes without having to manually add the code snippet for the share boxes into each item manually.

SO when an author submits and item they do not have to manually put in the share code into the item when submitting their articles. I was only stating this because this is the example I wanted to provide, I don’t want my authors to have to add that code to each item, instead the JA Social Plugins will add that code into the articles automatically WHEN ENABLED, which they are not enabled currently.

As far as I know we do not offer a social plugin, so please clarify the name and version of it from JA.
If you are talking about the demo and the items we used then these are only custom html modules with static numbers. You’ll have to get yourself some plugins / modules to show live data from your social accounts.

    jwBrett touched on them above.

    Content – JA Facebook Share
    Content – JA Retweet Button

These two plugins are included with the JA Social template, these are used to display the Facebook Share and Twitter Retweet buttons on the left hand side of the K2 items in category view and item view in the demo. Although in the demo version your Facebook Share is not appearing just the Twitter Retweet.

I am not talking about the Facebook and Twitter Modules that are also included in the template that is completely different.

The two images below display the plugins in the Plugin Manager, note they are disabled.

Ok, so you are talking about JA Facebook and JA Twitter, sorry about the confusion.
I ma still not sure I understand exactly what you are hoping the buttons will do.
Please clarify for me and also watch the video on the link shown in your screen shot for correct set up.
You may refer to this guide for JA Twitter.
    Thanks!

Ok….When I have the button plugins enabled. If I click the button to share the page, it is sharing the wrong URL as stated in my first post.

Exmaple: Actual URL http://www.mysite.com/item/23-article-title <–This is the CORRECT URL
Shared URL http://www.mysite.com/component/content/article/23 <–This is what is being shared by the JAFacebook and Twitter Plugins.

FYI: The guide you sent was for the JA Social Twitter Module. It displays a users account and Twitter feed. This has nothing to do with the JA Social Twitter Retweet Plugin.

Here is an example from the Demo site:

That is the JA Twitter Plugin. Whenever a user publishes a K2 or Joomla article it will automatically place this Twitter Retweet button into the beginning of the item or article. BUT since it is not working I am unable to use the plugin and I have to manually add the code directly from my ShareThis account into each item/article manually. This becomes a problem when I have several different authors publishing items/articles because they do not know how to manually add this code into the articles. That is why the JA Tweeter & Facebook Plugins are needed.

I am going to ask another mod to step in. When I shared the link to my FB account it was the correct link.
I listed the video you should watch as well as the only guide I know of for JA Twitter, the link was given to me by my boss.
i apologize that i am apparently just not getting what you need. maybe someone else can help you better than I can.
    Sorry for the inconvenience
