facebook use open graph tags to show the images.
You can put the URL here https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/
To see the image pick by facebook, Also if you are not aware about how to add the open graph tags in article php file, i suggest you to use 3rd party extension from Joomla extension directory.
Search open graph tags.

I already did but still not working properly…looking all day long to solve this annoying issue 😉 It just wont show the article image….
