I have tried the facebook connect feature over and over with ja_social after installing jomsocial. In the past, this has always been a simple task to set up however with the ja_social template I keep getting error messages. Any ideas? I already obtained an api key and all of that good stuff too, so I cannot find the issue

There is a discussion on JomSocial about Facebook Connect and some methods to resolve issues:

ChamberAnswers.comOctober 7, 2010 at 3:03 pm #358067I registered a while back with Joomlart and I downloaded the JA-Social and installed it.
There are two methods I used for the installation.
First one was the manual method of installing, I installed Joomla, and after that I Installed JomSocial and all the necessary modules and plugins. From which I tried connecting with the ‘Login With Facebook’ and It worked as it should. This is not where my problem is.
The problem lies in the second method of installation. I used the Quick Starter pack for the JA Social theme and did the Joomla setup through that, after which I Installed JomSocial on it.
From which I tried logging into the website throught the ‘Login With Facebook’ button but it gets stuck when its trying to import content from Facebook. If I select not to import any content from facebook. It just goes to the login page with no error whatsoever. I simply cannot use Facebook Connect with the QuickStarter archive.I’m going to go through the link that Randy has posted and see if I can find out anything from there to fix my problem.
If anyone has any ideas what might be causing my particular problem, do give me a heads up.
Thanks,
Sincerely,Abbas Khalil
I just tried connecting in Internet Explorer 8. I didn’t import anything so it forwarded me to a page where it says ‘ Members Login’ and the facebook button ‘ Sign In with Facebook’ was there. When I click on that it shows me an error.

Cause of the ProblemAfter digging around for a few hours , I finally managed to learn that the problem is with the Database. Whenever a new user is registered, these entries are reflected in 2-4 different tables in the database, but in this case, it is only reflecting in one table.
Because of which I am getting the “E_NOLOGIN_ACCESS” error when I try to login with the registered user.
I managed to fix this problem by following instructions on http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?f=430&t=259959
I had to run a few SQL queries within MYphpAdmin, and I was able to login with the previous registered user.
This indeed solved the problem of the user login but the problem that new users are not registered properly in the Database is an ongoing issue and if anyone could point me in the right direction for a permanent fix. That would be great.
Thanks.
