Hi all

I have some weird situation with my facebook share buttons.
I am able to share an article on facebook, but this will not be counted. It remains “0”.

Any other guys also experiencing some problems with counting?

I think there is a bug with JA Facebook Share.

I just tried these two extensions which are free:
Zn Facebook Share: http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/social-web/republish/14101
ITPShare: http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/social-web/republish/15665

Both make an immediate count when I click on the button.
The only thing which does not look good is when the counter is 0. Then the graphic is messed up. As soon as there is 1 count everything looks fine.

Hence, if those two extensions count, why is JA Facebook Share not counting??
Are the other two better in handling localhost or FB cache issues??

Thanks for finding some solution options. I will try those options after we hear more from Joomlart. I would really prefer to use the Joomlart options so that I can try to attain the same visual effect that exists with the Joomlart demo site using the JA Social template.

If the demo for JA Social works with these extensions, is it possible for us to download those extensions if they are newer than the ones supplied with the QuickStart files? I started from a clean slate with the JA QuickStart files so I could try to keep everything functioning exactly the same as the demo site.

yeah, you are free to use any extension you want. basically all should include smoothly with JA social.
The JA Facebook Share plugin is surely nice and I would go with that too if there is a solution within the next few days.
Otherwise I would take any of the other two and try to fix the problem with 0-count display.

My users are asking me every day what is going on with this Facebook share button as it is not working properly.

Hopefully somebody can provide a fix soon.

It might take some time because facebook is banned by our goverment and we have difficuties accessing it.

Thank you for elevating this case. I suppose we could simply look outside the JA family for extensions but I would prefer to use the extensions that make your templates funciton as they appear to do so in the demos you show. I greatly value the JA system and prefer to align resources around your products and service. Thank you much and please let me know what I might be able to send to you (screenshots, user experience feedback, etc.) that might help you to more clearly define the problem. I can also test updates to the extension if you like here in the U.S.

The rewiev/fix was due 28/02/2011.

dear kofi, this is not an isolated issue of our module, in order to make it work with facebook you have to enable SEF.

well, you might also share some articles to your facebook account and you will see that the counter will not work.
