and when i removed them i get this on the frontpage ( see attachment below). what/where i’m going wrong?</blockquote>

Sorry about that, iboux, I used that method myself, but only to translate the title not to remove it.

Instead, in backend, go to the Menu manager > Home > Parameters (System). Click No on the radio button for Show Page Title.

    That should do the trick.

    Steinar,
i went again to both place for the 2 responses you gave me. the ja_newsticker module content settings what should be the legth? currently it is set at 1600.
for the second one the home clickeng no on the home page title only take out the ‘welcome….’. i want to take out that entire block and the settings buttons that appear on the right of each section on the frontpage. thoughts?

Assuming that you just want to remove the «You are here» part and «Welcome to the home page» title: You have to do two things:
    1) Remove the «Welcome to …» as explained in post #16
    2) Disable the breadcrumbs module in backend: Module manager > Breadcrumbs. Make sure that you select only Home under Menu assignments if you only want to disable breadcrumbs on the home page.

I understand that you even want to remove the user settings buttons. I did answer this in post #12.

Please don’t bring in any more topics in this thread. One topic per thread is more productive for other people. We have moved a long way from this «Facebook – twitter – etc » thread. 😉

and also if you look at my site http://www.sunuafrik.com in the middle of the page there is a big ‘welcome to the frontpage’. how to take it out?
and last but not least, how to take out the buttons ‘settings’ that appear on the sections on the frontpage?

It seems that you did fix this problems.

p.s: does jt4 have a commenting system built in?

You could use JA Comment (as in our demo) or enable K2 comment. However, JA Comment is not a free one. You need be JAEC member to download this component.
