I’m using Joomla 1.6 and the JA Events template is not even loading up. The screen never confirms any file loading. How can i install this template?
    thanks for the support.

    Dear compcard,

Please give us more details on the issue, could not you install the template quickstart or the single template ?

yes. I was not able to install the template quickstart nor the single template. I put them both where it says choose file and started to upload them but once the process is done, the screen never confirms any “successful installation.” Like how it does for others when is installed fine. We were able to install the modules, plugins, and components under ja events files, but not the template (beta) or quickstart.
thanks for the support once again.

    Dear compcard,

Please make sure that you did install the quickstart package as install a normal joomla installation, also you can give me your admin account via the ticket HVU-280-44915 I will access your back-end to detect what problem caued you could not install the template package.

    Hi!

I also have the exact same issue. I downloaded JA Events 1.6 and tried to install both template & quickstart (which I don’t understand what it is supposed to do) to “Upload Package File”. There is no comfirmation when either is done. Does this have anything to do with me installing T3 framework? As compcard stated, I was able to install and receive confirmation of successful installation for all the plugins & modules.

    Please help!

Have the same problem, only if I do the quickstart installation from beginning it works. If I want to do it on a plain Joomla 1.6 intallation and the template afterwards, then it does not appear in template list in backend, even though it is on the server in the template folder. I tried also directly per ftp per instructions on forum here . I donĀ“t want to work with the whole quickstart, since it is too much trouble and work to delete all the unnecessary files!>:(

Actually it is a lot easier to use the quickstart IMO especially with all the permissions now associated with J1.6

Please tell me the exact procedure you are using so I can help to try and debug for you. Alternatively please send me a super admin logon and link so I can attempt to install the template for you. Please include a link to this thread in your PM.

I have uploaded the template files over FTP into template folder, also the two language files into the designated folders per instructions in the forum. I sent you login details by private message…do you need anything else ?

I’ve taken a look and the template is not uploading due to server restrictions you have. For instance the template is 14mb but you have a upload_max_filesize set to 10mb. Please try setting that higher with a php.ini file (you will probably have to speak to your host to get that done).

Also please look in your site>sysyem information>directory permissions menu where you will see some required folders are not writable to. You will need to adjust the permissions on those.

I tried logging on but you have remove the admin account you sent me.

In all likelyhood your server does not have php_cURL enabled. This causes a problem with the ja_twitter module.

The simplest fix would be to go into the back end and disable the ja_twitter module from the module manager. That should get your site up and running.

Then you can speak to your host to get php_cURL enabled if you want to use the twitter module.
