    Hi All,

I am re-designing our family-website using the JA-Uvite template. I would like to have comments so I can finish the project and put it on the production-domain.

    Used components:

    • Frontpage Slideshow 2.0
    • JomSocial
    • Easybook
    • Phoca Gallery
    • Eventlist
    • Joo!BB
    • XMap
    • ccNewsletter

    Modifications:

    • Modified template for JomSocial to fit in JA-Uvite (Blue)
    • Modified template for Easybook to fit in JA-Uvite (Blue)
    • Modified template for Frontpage Slideshow in JA-Uvite (Blue)
    • Modified template for Joo!BB Forum in JA-Uvite (Blue)

    Hi,

There are some historic pictures on the site, but the main goal of the site is to maintain contact between the several families.

A friend of mine has been asking me to make her a site for the same purpose. Nice to see what someone else has come up with before I start the project.

I think the site navigation is done well should be very easy for anyone to use. The color scheme is pleasing to the eye, site loads fast. Photo album loads fast the only thing that I might do is increase the time on the slide show. The pictures go by fairly fast.

My biggest stump so far on family type site is what type of forum I would want to use. I can’t seem to find any decent forums for 1.5 that don’t require a bridge.

    Hi nefar,

Thank you very much for your comments. The slideshow time indeed is a little short. I was thinking about Fireboard or Agora as a forum. But I am not sure how the integration with JomSocial will be, because this is a brand-new component.

I just installed Agora with Mesolite template and I am running into problems already ;(
It looks like in the long run might be a good forum but as it is right now I’m not to impressed. The administration functions are not layed out very well and any adjustments to the template seem impossible.

I just tried Joo!BB. It looks very promissing. Maybe it is not as sophisticated as VB, SMF etc., but for my purpose it is perfect. :p

PS. Un-published the forum. First need to make a custom template for the forum to fit my site.

I now installed Joo!BB-forum and customized the template for the website. It looks pretty cool now. Please send your comments. 😉
