March 19, 2012 at 10:20 am #175166Trying to upgrade Jat3 framework to 2.5.1 version (Joomla 2.5.3) and upgrade template and modules-plugins to 2.5
Again, getting following error
Fatal error: Class ‘Browser’ not found in C:xampphtdocsveltionoptimumwmspluginssystemjat3jat3corecommon.php on line 336
Tried on localhost.Files downloaded from Joomlart’s site on 19/03/2012First installed Ja-ext-manager. Then upgraded Ja-ext-manager.
After that I checked for upgrades of Jat3 framework . I know (see my previous similar thread) that I first have to upgrade Framework and after that the template.
Check update shows 2.5.1 is available for t3 framework.
Apply update and after that getting above error. When rolling back to 1.6.2 everything works again in front end…
What is wrong? What am I doing wrong?
It is impossible to upgrade to the new 2.5 template and I know no way of getting over this error.
I am currently preparing a new site on a subdomain , so I am running this test on localhost .
I have tried it more than three times to be sureAny help appreciated,

March 22, 2012 at 8:40 pm #445183Hi,
I couldn’t reproduce the issue in PHP 5.2.9 i suggest that you upgrade your php to a newer version (the most common version is php 5.2.17 )

March 26, 2012 at 7:26 am #445665Hi,
I tried upgrading using PHP Version 5.2.8.
Since the last three days, I have tried doing an upgrade using ext-manager on localhost environment
What I have come up till now is this : Whenever I use Ja-ext-manager to upgrade the t3 framework to v2.5.1 from v1.5 I get the above error.
When I upgrade to T3 framework v 1.6.2 , there is no problem, i.e. if the framework is on 1.6.2 and the template on 2.5, everything works.
Now, If i make an upgrade to the T3 using Joomla extension manager, again no problem!!
Extension-manager is at version 2.5.1.
Should I do a versonby-version upgrade when ext-manager finds more than one updates? Is there sth I have to check or do as a prerequisite before upgrading the framework to 2.5?
I am stuck with this thing and I have wasted precious time to do these tests. Unless sb has a good idea I think it is time to put this thread also in ticketing system.Best regards,

March 26, 2012 at 8:03 pm #445766Hello,
When you want to upgrade using JA Extension Manager you can go straight to the latest version of the Component/Module or Plugin and you don’t have to do a version by version update.
As for PHP 5.2.x is an outdated version and it’s the minimum ver for Joomla 2.5.x while the recommended one is 5.3.x but still i have managed to upgrade everything here -> http://www.pascm.com/ to the latest version using php 5.2.9 without any problem, so since this is on localhost i can only guess that there might be some other issues with your server settings also.aberon Friendaberon

March 27, 2012 at 1:37 pm #445908Hi,
I can now give you some more info on this “upgrade” procedure since I tried on a subdomain.
I am giving you some details so you can understand what was the task.
existing environment : J1.7, template JaKranos v1.0.0 plus all module+plugins of that version. Ext-manager was not installed.
PHP/5.2.6
tasks :
-upgrade J! to 2.5 and upgrade template and joomlart’s modules+plugins using ja-ext-manager.
what i did (steps are important)
-installed ja-ext-manager using Joomla! extension manager
-upgraded ja-ext-manager to version 2.5.1
-upgraded t3 framework toversion 1.6.1 !! important : in my previous attempts when upgrading to 2.5.1 (latestversion) the site was breaking up showing the error message “…class browser …etc”
-upgraded joomla to 2.5
-open template from template manager and got a green label informing that “...the template folder structure has to be converted to the new framework structure..”,so I selected “Convert”
-upgraded jat3 plugin to latest 2.5.1 using ja-ext-manager . I have to mention here that during the upgrade which i did step by step (1.6.1 to 2.5.0 to 2.5.1 ) the ja ext-manager was falsely showing that the current version is 1.6.2 (but it was not showing this upgrade when using upgrade check… only 1.6.0,1.6.1,2.5.0,2.5.1) All this after refreshing the screen each and every time…
-tried to upgrade template to 2.5.0 using ja-ext-manager but I had an error message (..copy failed..)that I solved changing temporarily all ja_kranos folder permissions to 777.
–finally template upgrade worked so I proceeded with upgrading all other ja modules and plugins. That’s all, I understand that in my case there must be a blind spot in the part of t3 plugin upgrade in conjuction with core Joomla version…
This is what I have come up to as a conclusion, not sure if all this story can give sb an idea of an existing problem, but you have to believe that it is an existing one…

April 1, 2012 at 5:53 am #446675Hi,
I am glad that everything is solved for you! I guess the issue was more complicated than we both thought at first. Unfortunately i wasn’t able to reproduce this.
