I have been wondering for a while why all Joomlart templates of the last couple of years have their favicon inside the plugins/system/jat3/base-themes/default/images

it seems to me an unnecessarily obscure location and so far I have been unable to find either a template based way to upload a new favicon in that location or an alternate location where one can upload the favicon and have it displayed.

    Am I missing something?

That said, I have a site where I uploaded the favicon in the right place but it’s not showing up in the URL field, while it shows just fine in the tab.

I have tried every trick I could think of; from cache clearing to deleting every favicon, clearing cache and uploading it again, but nothing is working. Anyone has any other ideas?

    You can control on this.

    1) Please check check head.php file on ja_your_template
    <blockquote>templates/ja_your_template/blocks/</blockquote>
If it’s exist please upload favicon.ico into
    <blockquote>templates/ja_your_template/images</blockquote>
    2) If head.php file is not exist
    <blockquote>Copy plugins/system/jat3/jat3/base-themes/default/blocks/head.php file</blockquote>
    Paste to
    <blockquote>templates/ja_your_template/blocks</blockquote>
    And continue with case (1)

Remember to clear cache from admin area favicon.ico then your site will change.
