May 18, 2017 at 8:13 am #1034960Hello,
I realized that the Featured Articles in Joomla do not work like I expected, so now I need to find a way around it.
My problem is, I want to use the style of Featured Articles on my Category Blog page.
I figured out that if you have: on Home Page -> Featured Articles (from category News&Events), you need to have another menu item with Menu -> Category Blog (category News&Events) for the links from Featured Articles homepage going to your menu with category blog on it.
The styles of Featured Articles and Category Blog have a different look in JA Medicare.
My questions are:
1) Can you make the articles in Category Blog style same height? (https://prnt.sc/f96vgs) Now, they adjust the height to article content and load in a flowing mosaic style, I don’t want that. I’m sure there is a way to change that, but I don’t know where to look for it (https://prnt.sc/f96vgs)2) Is it possible to create a new articles style "xFeatured Articles Category Blog" that will have the functionality of the category blog (link to the articles on this menu page), but look like the Featured Articles style (image on top, article info and intro below)? I want to have a consistent style on my page, so I want the home page featured articles blog look the same as the News submenu category blog, which is impossible for now.
3) Is it possible to change the layout of the Category Blog style, so that the images will be on top and article title below? (https://prnt.sc/f96vqu)
Please advise and maybe there’s another option that I’m not seeing. The "hidden menu" option is not for me, as I don’t want to confuse users with links going into a dead end.

May 19, 2017 at 7:48 am #1035341Hi,
Could you send the URL of that category blog page so I can take a look?
And also share the credentials of your site.
Regards

May 19, 2017 at 8:47 am #1035362Hello, my site is on localhost, can’t share.
I was looking at the quickstart and trying to make it like the Featured articles from home page link to the News&Events style of articles in Menu News& Events: http://localhost/ja-medicare/index.php/bonus-page/news-events
I also tried on the quickstart to make 3 columns view in the menu Category Blog (http://localhost/ja-medicare/index.php/joomla-page/content-pages/category-blog) and it shows same as I posted the print screen in my first post (https://prnt.sc/f96vqu).
It would be perfect if I could make it work like this: https://prnt.sc/f9letb Like in quickstart, Featured Articles (from 3 categories, let’s say A, B, C) on my home page – here I don’t want to change anything in the style. Then, the featured articles from home page from category A link to the article on menu page "A", category B – "B" , category C – "C". Problem here is, I want the style of these menu pages A, B, C look like Featured articles on home page, but I just can’t find a way to do it. Each of the menu pages A, B, C will also have a grid view of all articles from category A, B, C (respectively).
My problem is ONLY in HOW to make the style similar or same as in the Featured Articles menu on the Category Blog/News&Events style. I want to have the image on top of the column, then article title, article info and article intro + read more. It should be a 3- column grid view with same height of rows.
edit: If the "News Layout" had same height of items in rows that would solve my issue.I realize my description is pretty chaotic, but I tried to explain it as good as I can. Please advise.

May 22, 2017 at 3:47 am #1035846Hi,
In this template, we provide different view layouts for com_content: featured article, events, blog, etc… with each view, it will have different layout and style so it would be hard to have exact same look with each other without customization on style.
On the homepage, it shows Featured articles, when you click to open, it will open the detailed page of that article, I’m not quite sure of ‘link articles on homepage to style of article on News&Events page’ here.
