Hi, i just wounder why my page are so slow!!

I just check with http://www.websiteoptimization.com and :


Total HTTP Requests: 93
Total Size: 581690 bytes

Object type Size (bytes):

HTML: 53213
HTML Images: 34007
CSS Images: 95524
Total Images: 129531
Javascript: 315476
CSS: 37666
Multimedia: 45804

total side 581 KB i get schocked !!! And only Javascript already 315KB..

What i can do to reduce this and speed up the page?

I just change to the Template “madeyourweb” and make the test again:


Total HTTP Requests: 39
Total Size: 197433 bytes

HTML: 38185
HTML Images: 33527
CSS Images: 18382
Total Images: 51909
Javascript: 47462
CSS: 14073
Multimedia: 45804

That is 380kb less only with a change of a template!!

Please help my what i can do i see mootools are so big to i need it i use CSS Menu?

Why mootools are so big before i use Rockettheme and there the mootools are only 45kb and not 185kb?

Now i have analyse with http://www.websiteoptimization.com and are quit sure that have something to do with the joomlart template because:

Change only the Template to Joomla standard template rhuk_solarflare_ii :

Then i just change to the Joomla standart Template madeyourweb :

Both templates running in real very fast all pages loaded in 1 second.

So then i test again the ja_fedora template only switch to this template not change anything else:

Total Images: 100795

Load Times:

T1 1.44Mbps 20.26 seconds


When i load this page without change anything it need around 20-30 seconds to load. Compare to standart Joomla Templates who need always below or around 1 sec.

I really don’t know whats happen but with this performance i don’t need this templates!!

Hope somebody can give me some direction what i can do..

Make sure all module positions and modules are used in all templates when you test it.

yes I’m so stupid….

Ok i have check it and your hint was perfect. The ja_fedora template have to module position which was not use by the other template, this module position used RSS Feed and this cause the delay. So easy sometimes..

Thanks for the hint…:cool:

Do you know a safe module for RSS feed? I use the standart one and when this can delay the website up to 30 sec. its crazy maybe somebody know a better module for RSS Feeds.
