March 3, 2009 at 1:31 pm #294262Someone else had suggested feedgator….
the news feeds mod which is built in in joomla 1.5 seems quite tricky and the help files
are quite difficult to understand like someone who knows too much about it and explaining to someone who has no idea…they’re difficult to follow …..
There is then the choice between following what has been said ie feedgator or the inbuilt newsfeed.
What would you suggest…………

I cannot really answer that for you, bookpeg, I have never used either in my sites as I never required feeds, can I suggest, given you have said feedgator, ‘appears’ complex, you attempt what you require using the newsfeed manager first and evaluate it based on ease of use and setup, does it deliver what you require. etc
If it does then problem solved, if not perhaps try feedgator and I’m sure the person who recommended it will be glad to help you with setup?
I’m sure you are aware that there are many skilled and unskilled ppl who give of their time and knowledge willingly on these forums
