    1. When we run import job it ignores the post but extracts text from the page linked at that post:

For example, this is post from "Verify":

    Original:
_"message": "Computers have MICE problems too!!!! nhttp://www.cnet.com/news/i-got-mousejacked/", "created_time": "2016-02-24T15:03:18+0000", "id": "1260870241017461043607585683014"

    Final result:
"MOUSEJACKING" TAKES ADVANTAGE OF A FLAW IN MANY WIRELESS (Source Facebook) "Mousejacking" takes advantage of a flaw in many wireless USB dongles.

    1. The import pulls images no matter what settings are selected. Often it’s a huge (HUGE) video or an image going out of page boundaries.

As is it can’t be used because we don’t want google reading plagiarisms on our site. We need our content (Facebook Posts)

    Hi

May I know which facebook account you used to import feeds from?

I tried to check via backend but I couldn’t login with provided info.

    Hi

I tried to import feeds from that FB page and here is the result: http://prntscr.com/awwmme

Not sure what’s wrong here and could you specify how it should be?

    I did, that’s what I started with… here’s it again:

Original (our post on Facebook, which is retrieved by "VERIFY" button on your plugin):

_"message": "Computers have MICE problems too!!!! nhttp://www.cnet.com/news/i-got-mousejacked/", "created_time": "2016-02-24T15:03:18+0000", "id": "1260870241017461043607585683014"

    Final result:
"MOUSEJACKING" TAKES ADVANTAGE OF A FLAW IN MANY WIRELESS (Source Facebook) "Mousejacking" takes advantage of a flaw in many wireless USB dongles.

Instead of our post the Plugin dives into a link in that post and sucks the content from that 3rd party page. Please, read carefully my original post… it’s all there.

Here’s a link to a corrupt live version. I’d leave it there for a half-day (hopefully google crawlers wouldn’t jump on it right away). Check out the first few links, it surely would give you an idea.

Here’s the text from VERIFY (which is what we need… nobody needs data extraction from linked pages):

    {
    "data": [

You meant that the text imported into your site is not the same as the post in Facebook, is that right?

I’m sorry, did you bother reading my previous explanations on this matter, pretty simple matter in fact? I described it twice with screenshots and quotes. Here we go the third time:

ORIGINAL post on Facebook looks like this: [our verbiage + a link to a 3rd party website]

POST-IMPORT through your plugin: [extracted verbiage from the 3rd party website] and our own post’s verbiage skipped entirely.

What we end up with is articles with

    1) plagiarism instead of our own Facebook posts
    2) oversized pictures, videos

I got your point. When you share a link in a facebook post, our plugin will import content of that shared link.

You can try to submit a new post in fb which doesn’t have link, it will take content of that post.

No, restricting ourselves to link-less posts is not a viable path.

Can we tweak the code of your plugin so that it just imports the message as it is delivered by Facebook? For example:

"If you travel on I-540 a small plane has landed there this morning nhttp://www.wral.com/small-plane-makes-emergency-landing-on-i-540-in-raleigh-pilot-unhurt/15606584/"

Or at least point us to the location of such processing in your code so it’d save us time for reverse-engineering?

Are there any news on this issue?
I’ve got exactly the same problem, where link-less posts on facebook are just not an option.
    Thank you!

    Hi @preno,

Try to take a backup of your site and update the latest version of JA Social Feed plugin.

Let us know if problem still persists.

    Hi @saguaros,

thanks! Update to v.1.2.6 seems to fix this issue.
Besides, GUI looks much better. Congrats und thanks again.

But now, I’ve encountered the same low-res image issue as described "here"

I’ve updated all articles generated by fb feed (wasn’t that much). Now I see, that I’ve got two sets of images (low and high) for every post in the "images/jasocial_feed" directory. For both article images (intro/full) the "tiny" preview version of the image is automatically set. While this might be good for category view, this does of course look terrible on single view, if the template specifies larger image widths. Why does the plugin not populate the existent larger Version?
