June 3, 2011 at 11:33 pm #164787Hi,
I am sorry if this is another mundane question but I would like to have some fields available to edit when looking at the profile but not on the registration form.
I don’t seem to have this option in display modes for each field.
Example:
1. Show All On Front-end I don’t want to show this on the registration form
2.0Show all on Front-end for Registered users only This does not allow the user to edit when in the profile
3.Show All And View Only This does not allow the user to edit when in the profile
4.Hide On New Form And View Only On Edit Form This does not allow the user to edit when in the profile
5.Show on New | Edit form and hide on view I don’t want to show this on the registration form
6.Show on New and view only on edit form I don’t want to show this on the registration form
7.Hide All On Front-end. I want this to show on the front end, just not when registering
8. Admin only this won’t allow any option I want for a userWhat is the difference between 7 & 8?
Again, I apologize..I may just be misunderstanding. Thank you for your help.

June 6, 2011 at 7:15 am #394853Hi mcarbone,
Those display mode option fixed by JAJobBoard design, with another request, you must customize our component to do as you want.
7. => Used for some specific system fields
8. => Show only in Admin area.mcarbone Friendmcarbone

June 7, 2011 at 8:36 pm #395144It seems as if this common display mode request was overlooked by Joomlart. I am puzzled that you wouldn’t have “hide on new, show on edit” from all the options that joomlart DID include.
Please explain why the option Show all on Front-end for Registered users only is displayed in the registration form. If I am a new user that has never registered – shouldn’t this be hidden?
If I do need to add a custom display mode, what file do I need to edit?
Thank you,
Mc

1. Please explain why the option Show all on Front-end for Registered users only is displayed in the registration form. If I am a new user that has never registered – shouldn’t this be hidden?

Sorry for this mistake, the option means to show only logged in users.
Eg: To see some fields in Resume details page, guests have to register and log in.2. If I do need to add a custom display mode, what file do I need to edit?
=>
You can customize field display mode in:

I have set these resume fields to Show all on Front-end for Registered users only but it still appears in the registration form.
Your explanation makes perfect sense, but why are these fields still appearing on the Registration form?

June 9, 2011 at 8:05 am #395446Hi mcarbone,
As replied before, there is a mistake in the title:
“Show all on Front-end for Registered users only”, it must be “Show all on Front-end for Logged in users on view mode only” -
