Dear all,
I found a bug that bothered me for the last couple of hours. When you do a fresh installation of joomla using sample data, no matter where you do ‘search’, the results will show in a clean page, under menu:
>About Joomla>Using Joomla!>Using Extensions>Search Components>SearchUsing sample data during joomla installation, you will get search menu with link as follow:
index.php?option=com_search&view=searchIf you edit the menu and save it, the link will become:
index.php?option=com_search&view=search&searchword=I believe it is due to the new “Optional Search Term” input with parameter “searchword”.
This extra parameter in the link, kills the nice feature of having search result showing in a clean page.
For now the only way to fix this is to go to your database, and clean the link inside your joomla menu table.
I don’t know if it is a bug or not, but this thing wasted 6 hours of my time today.
If you are doing a clean installation of joomla 2.5, do this to have the search result showing in a clean designated page.
1. Make a menu link for showing search result. It can be in any menu, as long as it is active.
2. Make a module for your menu consisting the link. This module has to be published in at least one of your page.
3. Create a search module, and publish it.*** IMPORTANT ***
4. Go to your database, and edit the menu link you created in step one and change it to:index.php?option=com_search&view=search
Now you will get the search results from any page in the menu link you created.
Sincerely,
Ahau.Stork11 FriendStork11

Would you mind getting me a few screenshots for more clarifications? Then I shall know what you are trying to achieve.
Right now, I am quite not sure where to start.Regards.

August 9, 2013 at 1:06 pm #501776Hi i have seen that i have the same problem.
If i include a search module on the top when i click to browse it is not showing in a clean page. It shows the results in the content-main but with the other elements that it was before to click “Search” (view attachment).
Before if you click on search button to generate a new search, this is showed in a clean page
How can i fix it?.
Thanks
