November 3, 2008 at 5:11 pm #135043I’ve looked at the various methods to implement flash content in the header region in place of the image array.
I have settled on using JA_Slideshow rather than the embed object method and I’ve downloaded mod_ja_slideshow from http://www.joomlart.com/forums/downloads.php?do=file&id=724
I’ve created a new position (flashheader) and declared it in the templateDetails.xml file. The flash file is 731px x 200px and now appears in the correct position and plays.
However, it is pushing the breadcrumbtrail and search bar below out of position below. I need the flash content to play behind the crumbtrail but without breaking the layout.
I think I need to tweak ‘ja_slideshow.css’ file but not sure if z-index is involved.
The site is live at http://www.leaseextension-freeholdpurchase.co.uk/index.php. Could anyone suggest a fix?
Many thanks in advance for any help.

I’ve sorted ot out!
Not exactly sure as i’,m using CSS edit to play around with heights and z-indexes. I know I had to set ja_pathwaywrap to z-index 999 and then reduce #ja-slideshow-wrap height to 130 in ja_slideshow.css.
I’ve updated the live site already! Thanks for you quick input though!

IE7? I’ve noticed the sub-menu from mainmenu is persistent when you move between qualification and procedure. Any ideas?

November 3, 2008 at 6:09 pm #277941Oh my God!
Looks horific in IE6?
Have you used http://extensions.joomla.org/component/option,com_mtree/task,viewlink/link_id,366/Itemid,35/
or the embed flash object method successfully?

November 4, 2008 at 9:59 am #278025Thanks for looking again bennitos
It’s a nice little solution, although i quite like the semi-transaprent breadcrumb bar overlaying the image.swf.
However, the header layout is still awfully disrupted when viewed in IE6 and Opera.
I’ll have a poke around using WebDev tool in FFox (thank God IE6 usage is dropping consistently http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.asp)If you have any ideas in the meantime i’d appreciate – I’ll update this post if I fix it.
Thanks for bringing the non-profit template issue (your signature) to my attention – this affects me too!
