August 9, 2011 at 8:18 am #167212Some of the fonts in headers and articles seem to displaying differently in IE 8 than FIREFOX. I have attached a couple of screenshots to demonstrate. I am using version 8.0.6001.19008 and 3,6.8 fo FIREFOX. The difference is quite subtle (especially since it is in Japanese) but it means that I cannot get headlines onto one line etc. It is appearing the way I want it to in FIREFOX but not IE8.
The URL for the site is http://aihara-japan.alchemy-network.co.
I am using 1.5.22 of JOOMLA with the ORES template.
Thanks in advance guys.

August 9, 2011 at 11:18 am #405114Hi,
this is specific font issue and unfortunately can’t be fixed with CSS.
Of course You can load different CSS style for different browsers and in each one You can set different font-size for headlines.
Please read here how: http://css-hacks.mozork.de/Regards

August 9, 2011 at 2:10 pm #405153This isn’t really about the font size so much as the font – it’s a different font. The characters are different and the spacing is different. Why would another browser load a different font? It doesn’t do it in SAFARI – just in IE8. Thanks for the link Trimud – is there an English language version available?

August 9, 2011 at 3:45 pm #405167No, it’s not different font – same font but different browser output.
This is IE’s Cleartype setting, which is unfortunately unavailable in IE9 and can’t be switched off: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/ie/archive/2006/02/03/524367.aspx
I don’t have this site translated, but You could use Google Translator for this 🙂
