June 3, 2013 at 3:43 am #187921Is there a way to get JA Wall to work in IE7 by giving it a separate CSS file? A lot of people are accessing my site in IE7 (or using IE8 in compatability mode). I came across this post below, but am not exactly sure how I would implement it.

To make it work with ie7 just make a css file called template-ie7.css that statics the site to something that looks good at 1024×768 resolution (e.g. 950px or 1000px width for main body) that will override the dynamic CSS files and give ie7 people something to look at

Could someone who has made JA Wall compatible with IE7 let me know how they did it? A short guide or pointers would be much appreciated. Many thanks,
John

June 4, 2013 at 3:51 am #494653Hi bowman999,
Yes, you can add a new css style or use any existing css files to add more styles for IE7.
I’m afraid that it would need much of work to do as you know IE7 doesn’t support some new css rules.
You should consider hire a css developer to help you at http://www.joomlancers.com/

June 7, 2013 at 2:15 pm #495144Thanks Wall Crasher, but that’s not particularly helpful.
I was hoping to hear from someone who had made modifications to improve the way JA Wall works with IE 7 (moderators or other users of the JA Wall template club). Any tips or suggestions.
If I had wanted to (or could afford to hire a developer) I would have – and wouldn’t be posting on this forum.
Cheers,
John

June 18, 2013 at 2:39 am #496113Hi John,
I can understand your worries but IE7 is dead and we stopped providing support for it since Aug 2012. You can read the announcement here >> http://www.joomlart.com/blog/news-updates/joomlart-to-stops-ie7-support-wef-from-1st-august-2012
You can wait to see if any community member has done this compatibility. If it would have been easy, we would have provided default support for it.
Regards
Arvind
