The Error Message: Fatal error: Call to a member function get() on a non-object in
…
/templates/ja_purity_ii/libs/menu/base.class.php on line 149is caused by changing a menu item to registered or special. Sorry, no URL or Screenshot atm, but it’s easy to reproduce. Just set one menu item in MainMenu to ‘registered’ or ‘special’ and log in with a user profile that’s UNDER that level and you get the error message.
Love the template. Love to be told how to avoid this error / see this get fixed:)

November 10, 2009 at 1:28 am #323073Thank you for the JA Purity II template! I am reporting a bug to make this even better.
It seems that JA Purity II does not allow the search module to function properly. If you notice, the default text is missing from inside the box (default=search). This is also evident in your screen shots.

November 10, 2009 at 8:19 am #323093that is not actually a bug, it’s more like a customisation to make search integrate visually better.
to argument this, find html folder in your purity II install, and you will see inside com_search overide 🙂das capitolin Frienddas capitolin

I understand the purpose, but to me it seems like this ‘breaks’ the Joomla Search module instructions to include text. If the template author wanted to remove the word ‘Search’ from inside the box, he should allow webmasters to remove that text from within the Search module parameters.
November 11, 2009 at 2:41 am #323168Right module collapse doesnt work so well when set to collapse all. Edit the template and set:
“Right Modules to Collapse Function” to –> “Collapse All”
You have to click on them twice to expand – not double click, like the first click does nothing.
Also, the slow expand and contract function, some moo or js thing, isn’t happening on the collapse either.
On that note, it would be nice if the template remembered what modules were expanded and collapsed as the user browsed to different pages, regardless the expand / collapse all setting.
Cheers:)

November 11, 2009 at 11:43 am #323242Hi
When I set a specific menu item visible only to registered or special users, i get a blank screen with the following error:
Fatal error: Call to a member function get() on a non-object in /home/beingwgr/public_html/templates/ja_purity_ii/libs/menu/base.class.php on line 149
If I unpublish the specific menu item, the website works properly.
Looking forward

November 11, 2009 at 3:16 pm #323272Hi there,
Great template! Hope you release next (final) version soon!
One thing though….I have the template running on a J1.5.15 site running (on XAMPP PHP 5.2.6, MySQL 5.0.67), with Joomla (Apache rewrite) SEO activated. And this means, that all menuicons on menuitems deeper than first level, is not shown (see image attached)…
As soon as I deactivate SEO, everything works fine!
Cheers,
Rosensta 🙂PS. Forgot to mention, that “Find broken images” in my Firefox dev. toolbar, verifies the missing images as seen below.

November 11, 2009 at 4:14 pm #323283To Rosensta,
Maybe it’s a problem with the directory where are the pictures. The pictures should be in the” /images/stories” directory and not with the template.
Regards,Thierry
Edit : Sorry, I was wrong, I only saw the first link. The others show that the pictures are in the good directory…
Maybe a problem with the caracters in the filename “_” or “-” ?korb Friendkorb

November 11, 2009 at 9:27 pm #323331The menu icons are stored by default in images folder of the Joomla root. So are those from JA Purity II quickstart.

November 12, 2009 at 9:27 am #323362Menu icons in megamenu don’t show up when SEF is ON, only when one of the menu items of the main menu is active.
If you have a menu item from another menu, let’s say User Menu, there is no problem with main menu icons. Is it something obvious that we are missing? Or it is simply a bug in the Purity code?

November 12, 2009 at 11:18 am #323370Hi basskool,
To me it looks more and more like a bug…
I just saw this morning, that the template was released in a final version yesterday, and rushed to download and install ver. 1.1 as it’s called, from the quickstart. But unfortunately the problem is still the same….I have a completely virgin testinstall on http://design.2ndlevel.dk/hhntest. With this install, the only thing I have done after successfull install, activating Joomla SEF, and renaming .htaccess.
The issue is quickly illustrated when choosing “About Joomla, The News”…

Also try to add the default contact as a mainmenu item, and check the link…rosensta Friendrosensta

November 12, 2009 at 11:27 am #323372Actually – Contact in Mainmenu seems to be working….
Correction: Contact is working when placed in root of mainmenu. As soon as you put the same item below another item, it breaks when SEF is enabled…
