I’m posting this as a query here, just in case the person in question really is a Joomlart template designer (highly doubtful):

There is a link coming in to my site from:
    http://www.jaysonvannini.com/portfolio/deploy/main.html

Which seems to be claiming to have designed My Website.
I’m currently using a modified Ja Nickel theme.

I suppose if he really is a Joomlart template designer, I have no basis to complain about my own modifications to the theme being claimed by him in his portfolio (a minor annoyance)
… but this does seem rather shady.

If this guy really is fraudulently taking credit for Joomlart designs – the staff here might want to set the record straight.

*edit: This query can be disregarded for now. This individual has since been kind enough to remove my site from their display. I will check it periodically to make sure it stays that way. Thanks!

His sites are quite cool, if they are his sites. Which one is yours? Are your on the rotator?
And, by the way, do you know what that rotator is on his site?

Yeah – my site is on it. This one: http://www.tonyamoore.com

I don’t know what the rotator software is.. nor do I particularly care.

Sure, the sites are cool – most likely none of them are his.

While it is annoying I’d take it as a huge compliment.

I imagine some people would but I ave given it some more thought and I’m more inclined to take exception to the fact that this person might be involving me/my site in their attempts to defraud or mislead potential customers.

I do believe that is a legitimate concern.

Yes of course it is but apart from sending him an email requesting he remove your site from his portfolio there is not a lot you can do about it.

Hmm just thinking… you could redirect traffic from his site to a particular page on your site. You could create an article explaining he has nothing to do with your site and when ever anyone clicks the link on his site they will be redirected to that page. It’s tricky to set up and it’s not fool proof but it does work.

I’m not particularly worried about what to do about this.

If I don’t get a response to this query from joomlart staff w/in 24 hrs, I’ll assume that this person has nothing to do with them. I will send a courtesy request to remove my site from the list and if there’s no result – I’ll issue a press release about it.

Right now, I’m just making every effort to make sure I’m not mistaken before taking the next step.

Thanks for the tip about re-directing links from that domain – I’ll give that a try too.
