June 8, 2009 at 6:55 pm #141782Hello,
I would like to know how to get an article on the front page to display the FULL article and layout the way I want it.
I have managed to format this so that instead of 1 leading and 3 intro articles to the right of the leading, there is only 1 article and no white space to the right of the article where the 3 intro articles where.
BUT… I DO NOT want the image above the text, nor do I want only part of the article. I need the entire article to display with the image to the left.
I do not have a live url for you to look at, but I don’t believe this is necessary as this question would apply to any user of this template. It is not a problem, only a formatting issue.
Thanks for any help you can give on this. If necessary, I can post a screen shot of what I would like, but I don’t know if that would make any difference.

June 8, 2009 at 7:18 pm #307328If you want a full article then don’t put a ‘Read More’ page break in the article.
To align the image on the left use style=”float: left; margin: 8px;” inside the image tag. Note: If you are using the default setup of TinyMCE this may be a problem. See this post on how to fix it.

June 8, 2009 at 7:24 pm #307330Hi Scotty,
I don’t have a page break in the article. Seems to be some sort of preformatting going on with the Front Page itself.

June 8, 2009 at 8:19 pm #307340Thanks… I wound up taking the dummy’s way out… changed the home page menu item to article view instead of front page blog.
Got exactly what I wanted and preserved the front page blog view for something different where I can use it the way it is supposed to be used. Might use it on the news page or something.

June 8, 2009 at 8:22 pm #307342If you only intend to use one article on the front page all the time then this method is perfectly fine.

June 8, 2009 at 8:31 pm #307343Thanks for your help… yeah… the front page needs a static article all the time because it is strictly an intro to the site… you know… the old fashioned “welcome” page…
After being brain dead for several hours trying to figure out how to put just the single article in that… when you said JA news… the lights came on and something in the old brain kicked in which is why I changed it over to article view. Worked perfect!
One question though… if I decide to use that JA news for the main news section of the website, will using the front page blog view for the news menu item mess anything up? Or is it ok to use the front page blog view somewhere other than front page?
Thanks so much for your input… nice to see you again 🙂
