Maybe I’m just not understanding how this works, but how do you get stuff to actually show up on the homepage (beyond the menus)? Nothing seems to be showing up.
Also, how do I get rid of the two sidebar menus? I only want one main column and one right-hand column.
Thanks!

Hi, Good question? It is actually quite easy, but not if you don’t know, and have not done it before. In the admin, go to Content/Article manager. Find the article you want for you Front Page (Homepage) Click the red button under Frontpage, and voila, the article will appear on the front page. Just make sure the article is also published.
Hope this helps.

January 7, 2009 at 3:30 am #285022Hi again, I just noticed that there was one more quesion:
Also, how do I get rid of the two sidebar menus? I only want one main column and one right-hand column.
When you place modules, just put all the modules you want in user2, and “right”.
Don’t put any modules in user1 or “left” That way there will only be one right column and the main column.
Good luck with your website.

January 7, 2009 at 12:04 pm #285113Thanks, Sunrise. Normally, marking something “Front Page” works. But it doesn’t work with this template for some reason.

Do you mean that you select front pagem and teh article is publsihed, and still nothing shows up on the home page? That is very strange. Don’t know off hand what could be causing that.January 19, 2009 at 5:33 pm #287115Hi.
Jumping in here, but I am having the same problem as natescape. NOTHING seems to show up in this template. The website I am developing stubbornly refuses to display anything with JA Uvite. JA Justicia and others work fine.
As a newbie, I am careful to suggest politely that there may be a problem with the template on the download site?
I have re-downloaded, uninstalled the old copy of Uvite and installed the new one with the same result….
You can publish what you like to the Frontpage, you just wont see it.Perhaps someone with knowledge could test JA Uvite?
Help? Pretty please?
Regards,

January 19, 2009 at 6:14 pm #287125Keep in mind that this template does not use the regular frontpage.
If you mark a article as show in frontpage it will not show.
This template uses JA News on the frontpage so to show items on your frontpage you will have to set JA news correctly.
Go to your module manager in your backend and select JA News. Under the module parameters looks for Category (Section) ID, In this list you have to fill in all id’s of the categories that contain the articles that you want to show on your frontpage.
When you installed demo content then there will be already 4 id nummers in there (demo categories) you can remove those and put the ID’s in for the ones you want.

January 19, 2009 at 6:17 pm #287129I was looking at the template about the same time Bennitos posted. I also noticed that the demo is not using an article on the front page!

January 19, 2009 at 6:24 pm #287133If you dont want to use the frontpage with JA NEWS and prefer the old frontpage (with normal articles) then you have to follow the steps in this topic:

February 1, 2009 at 3:00 am #289074My articles are market for Front Page, and show fine.
I’m using the JA News Frontpage Layout Style: headline_fp.php. And setting my articles to show on the Front Page was the only way to get them to show up top in the featured area.
