December 9, 2015 at 6:53 am #780260HEllo,
I am having an issue where the featured articles will have all of the front page modules appear and the reader is forced to scroll down before they can read the article. Normally, I use the hidden menu and create hidden menu items to remedey this and it does work for every other part of my site, except the featured articles. Can you please suggest a solution for this?

December 10, 2015 at 3:56 am #791253Hi,
In Joomla, if you want to view article individually, that article must be assigned to a menu item. Please create a new menu item (or use an existing one) and assign article (or category that article belongs to) to this new menu item and also make sure that you don’t assign any module to this menu item.
Regards

December 10, 2015 at 1:45 pm #795188Thanks for your response, but I am not trying to view the articles individually. From your response, I think you think that I want to view a menu item as a single article. That’s not what I am after. My apologies if I am misinterpreting what you said.
The issue is that when I click on a featured article from the home page, all of the home page modules show up on the article page. In fact, it looks like the the homepage, with that article tacked on to the bottom of it. On my site, I have other articles on the home page that aren’t featured articles and when I click those, I am taken to the article, with no home page modules. It is just that article, nice and clean. I am trying to get this to happen with featured articles as well.
Thanks again.

December 21, 2015 at 4:53 pm #827420Hi and thanks for your response. I ended up having to reinstall my test site, but I am having a different problem with the same module. The articles that I have in the ‘In the Spotlight’ section have an issue that the article is repeated. When you click on the article, the original article appears and then it is repeated in a completely different font. This doesn’t happen with any of the featured articles, only the articles in the spotlight slideshow. I have attached a screenshot and here is a direct link to one of the articles exhibiting this behavior.
Is there a fix for this?

December 22, 2015 at 3:42 am #828224The font in intro text and full text do not have a problem because the format font is working as our demo here
About the problem duplicate content, you can use this way to fix it.
Open templates/ja_teline_v/html/layouts/joomla/content/item/default.php file
find and change
<?php echo $item->text; ?>
to
<?php echo $item->fulltext; ?>
Let me know of it helps

January 2, 2016 at 7:37 pm #837107Hello,
I am having an error based on the fix you gave me for the issue I was having above. I was getting the same issue with the articles double posting and I did the fix you prescribed, but now I am getting this error message:
Warning: strpos(): Empty needle in /home/citywa9/public_html/2015/templates/ja_teline_v/html/layouts/joomla/content/item/default.php on line 34
Is there a fix for this?

January 4, 2016 at 10:22 am #838146In this case, you can find and remove this script templates/ja_teline_v/html/layouts/joomla/content/item/default.php file
// split introtext & text if ($params->get('show_intro', 0)) { $pos = strpos($item->text, $item->introtext); if ($pos !== false) { $item->text = substr_replace ($item->text, '', $pos, strlen($item->introtext)); } }

January 16, 2016 at 11:12 pm #850047My apologies for my delayed response. The problem seems to have gone away on its own, but if it appears again, I will try your suggestion.
Many thanks!
