January 16, 2013 at 8:48 pm #184065I am on Joomla 2.5.8 and Teline IV
This morning my site http://www.vbjusa.com worked fine.
I was looking into the caching options on the admin side. I enabled the System Caching plugin and when I refreshed the site the layout of the front page was broken so I disabled the plugin. The site reloaded fine after clearing cache and refreshing.
I noticed that the JAT3 caching was disabled, but I didn’t do anything with that setting.
I checked the Global caching setting, which was enabled (I had forgotten about the Global setting which is why I didn’t check it first). I misunderstood the caching time to be 15 seconds rather than minutes so I changed the setting to 1500. Within a few seconds I realized my error and changed the setting back to 15 and saved the setting.
Soon after the site started returning 500 Internal Server Error on the front page. Links to article pages and categories return the article and those pages display properly. Clicking on home returns the 500 error again.
I’ve cleared cache and refreshed many times. I even rebooted the web server.
I called my host and after an hour on the phone the only thing that was determined was the error log was stating “premature end of script headers”. A test page was loaded to see if php wasn’t working and that worked fine.
I don’t understand what happened. Please help!

January 17, 2013 at 7:16 am #480109Hello Ksmall24,
I have checked your site here: http://www.vbjusa.com/ and it works fine now, no links return to 500 Internal Server Error.
So your problem is fixed?
I think if you want to use cache, you can enable Cache setting in T3V2, no need to enable Cache System of Joomla.

January 17, 2013 at 4:06 pm #480213Luna,
It was determined that the JFacebook open graph extension was causing the 500 error. I had worked with that extension at all, so I don’t understand how the site broke when that extension had nothing to do with what I was doing. I feel a little hesitant to mess with the current setting at this moment.

Hi,
If you’re in development process a live site, I think you should take back-up for site, or any file that you’re gonna change it, and remember the step you did before site gets error to roll it back.
