July 28, 2009 at 1:54 pm #143054I’d like to increase the left margin of the frontpage content items so that they are lined up to the right of the image (and not wrap under the image), a little like the JA Raite template.
Can someone give me an idea on how to do this?
Thanks!

July 28, 2009 at 4:39 pm #312479Hi,
Open template.css and go to around line 545.
Change this:
/* Override fontpage ---*/
.article-content .ja-innerpad p {
margin: 7px 0;
}to this:
/* Override fontpage ---*/
.article-content .ja-innerpad p {
margin: 7px 0 0 160px;

July 29, 2009 at 8:46 am #312517thanks very much!
actually… is there a way to remove the frontpage override? I actually prefer the standard layout that you get in the category blog views.

July 29, 2009 at 1:30 pm #312565Yes , but honestly this templates overrides are very slight. Changing them back to the stock Joomla look won’t change much but if you really want to you can find the files in templates>ja_sulfur>html> and you will see the file com_content. This file contains files for each specific content override. If you just want to change the front page you can remove the frontpage folder. If you want all the content back to the regular Joomla layout remove the whole com_content file.

July 29, 2009 at 1:37 pm #312566Actually I was interested in using the same format for frontpage articles as for category blog articles…

July 29, 2009 at 2:02 pm #312570If you go to menus then main menu in the admin section you will see that Home, your default frontpage, is set to display as a frontpage blog layout. You can set it up the same as a category blog layout except a whole category won’t display. Only the pages that are set to display on the frontpage will. If you want you can chage the menu item type to category blog and it will display as a category blog layout but if you are just looking for that type of display style it is already set up that way. You can fine tune it with the parameters here to make it look different, say you want two columns or whatever… Hope that help a little.

July 29, 2009 at 2:19 pm #312580It depends on if you leave it a frontpage blog layout. If you leave it, it will still only display items set to the frontpage. If you change it to a category blog layout it will display the category you choose and ignore the frontpage settings. Both give you a blog layout and you can customize how you want it to look with the parameters under that menu link. 🙂
