April 1, 2009 at 10:09 pm #139841OK I learnt it the hard way because I was using firefox to check on updates, and did not realised that the images used with frontpage were messing with layout. So The image has to be sized to around 280width.
I am getting tired of resizing every image that I use with CS3 to the 280width before I include with the article. So how do I avoid larger images messing with the template with the frontpage.
Any help appreciatedcgc0202 Friendcgc0202

Any help appreciated</blockquote>Hi akwasi_c,
Try this, it might work. It works for my sites and I checked it with an internet browser compatibility site.
Go to admin (back end) => Contents => articles and got to edit mode of the article. Click the “HTML” mode. This gives you a HTML window which provides not only the text and image (see below) but also the HTML tags that define how the text and images are layouted in your article. Find the image script, like this (or whatever you want):
<img class="caption" src="....jpg" title="fill this up" description="fill this up" width="280" height="200" align="left">
[You can fill up most of the above when you insert image. But, always go back to the HTML mode, when you edit — to insert the width=”280″ and height=”200″]
Tip: It is a good idea to
JA News Frontpage
In the JA News Frontpage module menu page (back end)
For the question: Auto Resize: Yes No (select Yes). This is very good option if you have variable dimensions of your images, e.g., vertical and horizontal images. If you choose auto resize, it is the correct proportion that shows up.
JA News module
Do this also for the JA News. It will have the same effect as in the Front Page module.
In both cases, the drawback is that you will not have perfectly same size images. But what would you rather have, a well proportioned woman (in the actual image) or one that becomes fat (or with a bloated face), if you have a portrait image, and your settings in the Frontpage or News modules is a square?
Please alert me if it works. If it does, try this (same procedure as above)
<img class="caption" src="....jpg" title="fill this up" description="fill this up" width="280" height="200" align="left">
but change the width and height dimensions, as you want them to appear in your article page.

And, if it works. Would you please return the favor by writing a detailed procedure of what you have done (with capture image). I am collaborating with some members here. Since most of the answers are provided by members anyway. We will prepare a collaborative support group site that will include working solutions to questions like this — written from the perspective of those with no programming or webdesign backgrounds. [You will of course be properly attributed as the primary author of what you have done. And, if the solution came from this response, I will just be a secondary author.]I think such a database is more easy to search than in the forums.
