There’s a problem in IE6 with the mainmenu on the left or right postions. If you navigate away from the home page, then try to navigate from the mainmenu on the right, then the links are inactive. If you force reload of the page (ctrl F5), then the links become clickable.
Problem only in IE6, IE7 and FF seem to be OK.
Problem exists with all menutypes (1,2,3,4).
You can see this in http://permpoonsubkohchang.com, or in the demo on the JA site here:
    http://template.joomlart.com/ja_genista/index.php?option=com_frontpage&Itemid=1

This is most disappointing and renders yesterday’s work useless, and unless a solution can be found, I’ll have to ditch this template.

Hi Menalto – in my email notification you appear to have written “That was a new one, never notived it. Thanks for let us know”. But your post above says something different. Are you saying that you do not in fact see the problem with IE6 on either site ?

I thought on this small site I could eliminate the mainmenu and just use the “top” menu. I did that, but have now discovered that the “contact us” boxes are not updatable on IE6, so this would seem to be another manifestation of the underlying problem. I see this issue on my local server as well as from the sites on the web.

    Anyone else seeing the problem?

    Thanks

On my IE7 machine, I uninstalled IE7 to give me IE6 at level 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_qfe.070227-2300. The problem is not occurring there, so let’s put this down to an IE6 bug. 😀

Yes, this is a big problem with me also. I have modified a lot of this template and really don’t have the power to change it anymore to someone else, but it has to be done if there is no fif for it?

I have tested this template all the time using Firefox and did not have a clue, that there was this kind of problem with IE6. Most of the customers are using IE6 and that is a big issue..

I cannot use only the topmenu, i have lot of pictures published as links in the rightposition nad they arte not workin after one click. Please, eny solutions..? Yes, it is IE6 bug, but how can this be solved..?

I’m looking into this again because my customer has noticed the problem. It seems as if the links and input boxes are inheriting the css of mainbody. cntrl F5 always clears the problem. lower levels of IE6 have the problem, re my earlier posting.

If the mainwrap–.png files are converted to gifs, and the template.css is changed to point to them then the problem goes away, but the transparency around the mainbody is lost. Maybe this is a clue to the problem.

In IE6, try to refresh the page and it works.

the problem is fixed by adding
    position: relative;
to lines 68 (normal link) and 171 (.inputbox) in template_css.css

Hmm. It looks, it kind of works to the links, but not on the images published as links on the sidemodule..Or it works sometimes.. I am really glad this linkissue looks no solved! It is half a victory..! Good job! :D:laugh:
